flipflap78 Posted October 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2018 Hello All! I started a diary but I can't find it anymore with the new forum. So I open a new topic to ask you: what is the star that at the second cruise they put me on the cruise card? did you understand the type of promotion (go best) or other? Thanks
davekathy Posted October 17, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2018 Never noticed a star on any of our Seapass Cards,
maggie.1008 Posted October 17, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2018 A few years ago before the drink pkg. They would but a star on our sea pass that came from the Casino Blue Chip Club. Let you have free drinks at the casino bar. Not sure if they used the star for other perks.

laslomas Posted October 18, 2018 #5 Share Posted October 18, 2018 I had a Star on my sea pass last month on Eclipse, and above it was Select Member (which is self explanatory), and beneath that 'Pearl' which I have no idea about. Any one know what Pearl refers to??

Any one know what Pearl refers to?? Pearl refers to the entry level of the Blue Chip Club Quote The Blue Chip Club program boasts a variety of brand new exciting benefits, including free slot-play, internet packages, specialty dining and spa credits as well as a variety of other onboard and shore side benefits designed to lure and reward both casual and serious casino players. The program offers five tier levels – starting at Pearl, Onyx, Amethyst, Sapphire, and the highest tier, Ruby. Each level is based off a players’ past casino gaming activity with Celebrity. laslomas Posted October 18, 2018 #9 Share Posted October 18, 2018 This is quite intriguing. So I am Pearl in the Blue Chip Club?? I have only ever spent a short time and very few dollars on the 25 cent machines in the Casino and hardly ever bother to put my sea pass into the machine. After reading this I have tried to find information on the Blue Chip Club on Celebrity website, but with no luck. I have googled and followed links that always take me to the Celebrity Home page and no further because the links all refer to Celebrity.com and that is translated to Celebrity.co.uk, which takes me to the Home page. Anyone know if Pearl gives me any benefits?

TeeRick Posted October 18, 2018 #12 Share Posted October 18, 2018 Does the Blue Chip Club offer cruise discounts or cabin upgrades like the Royal Casino program on RCCL?

Rare Jim_Iain Posted October 18, 2018 #14 Share Posted October 18, 2018 Not sure if still exists but previously the Star was used for two purposes. For a period it was for young adults that were NOT of drinking age. It was later used to designate a booking win NO perks. We are both Elite+ and do not have star's on either of our cards but Iain played some free chips and won one dollar. Now his card has Pearl written under the Elite+ and since I didn't win at least $1 do not have that on my card.

Hi TeeRick, I have not seen Cabin upgrades, though it could be possible via a special promotion, which I receive mailers from time to time. I Blue Chip still offer discounts - but I could be wrong about that, due to recent program changes. If it still exists, you must be at one of the higher levels. Here's a tip : If you have any perks on your booking... once the rate changes via Blue Chip, you might lose a perk - i.e. booking onboard credit, so it's best to ask *before* applying any discount, as to what might be lost. For the higher Blue Chip levels, (IMO) the best perk was being offered a comp Specialty Dining for 2 per Cruise, but that perk was recently eliminated (boo hoo !). I noticed that Mamaday posted the benefits chart in an earlier post. Hope this helps !
Rare Ferry_Watcher Posted October 19, 2018 #16 Share Posted October 19, 2018 I was told by a ship's crew member that the star denoted a first time Celebrity passenger. My husband and I had our first Celebrity cruise a month ago and the the star was on both our SeaPasses.

flipflap78 Posted October 19, 2018 Author #18 Share Posted October 19, 2018 remains a mystery. is not the first cruise we do with celebrities, I've never played at the casino and I'm an adult with drinks package used very well and a lot 😉
laslomas Posted October 19, 2018 #19 Share Posted October 19, 2018 (edited) All very interesting, and confusing. I was on my fifth Celebrity Cruise and way over the legal age for drinking alcohol last month when I had a star on my sea pass card. So neither of those seem to be the answer. Thanks for the links provided. But, as stated, most links mentioning celebritycruises.com will simply revert to the UK Home page when opened in the UK. However the pdf file that was posted did open so I have a bit of info now. Thanks. I tried a search for Blue Chip Club on Celebrity UK and this is what I got. 884 entries. Needless to say I gave up after the first 50. So all I can say is thank you Cruise Critic forumers 👍 Edited October 19, 2018 by laslomas
