A Sampling Of The Music and Other Things to Do Onboard the Edge

With the new Celebrity app up and running with Edge cruises, we now have a taste of the music and entertainment beyond what has already been announced. The app has a digital daily agenda for two of my cruises (it is incomplete - there will be more to come). The following are some of the highlights of potential offerings:

 

Music:

It looks like there will be a wide variety of music options onboard. Venues include the Rooftop Garden, The Club, The Grand Plaza, Martini Bar, resort Deck and Eden. Here is a sampling of the music that shows up on our daily planner so far:

This is just a sample of things we will see onboard (most seem to be free of charge). Many other things were talked about in the entertainment roll out. There are a lot of pop up performances, which could be interesting (or not ).  It looks like there will be an interesting variety of things to do on the Edge. I'm looking forward to experiencing many of these onboard!  Too little time with so much to see and so!!

WOW, wow, wow... that is all can say, for now.

 

What a variety.

 

Music in itself, will be exciting to take in and listen to at many venues and all during the day... not sure if one (1) hour is long enough, but that is okay if they are playing again that day or during the sailing.

Me too....I wonder if they saved the creepy costumes from the other times they used that slithering motif on X in various locations? As long as they don't touch me, I'm okay with it,,.

 

Everything else looks awesome....new, retro, all diff vibes. and styles...something for almost everyone! A week won't be enough...glad we booked more days  in Nov 2019..

LOL - I was thinking the same thing about Snakeman touching me. I am glad that they outlined when the pop ups are in Eden - 12-5 on that schedule - I will hang there in the morning, but do not plan to interact with performers in the afternoon.  I'm sure it will be fun for some, but it's not my cup of tea.

I love how the app is showing the "ship time" in the upper left hand corner and it appears to be accurate.

Wow, so I guess Eden may have a snakeman mime after all. Look I am really really trying to be open minded.... but some of this just seems a bit odd.... or a throw back to the 60's..... beatnik...poetry, sitar (ala beatles)... Did I miss basket weaving?  Maybe it will be.... what is the word.... Groovy!

Alot of the Edge decor, entertainment  and gen vibe etc is  definitely retro...What was old and passe for some, is now new and EDGEY!

I kinda like the Eden offerings, the DJ, Guitarist Redden (had him in many sailings and he is good). The Dos Duo doesnt seem like it fits in the Martini Bar. I want high energy music there. When I think of Duo I think of Italian music. My husband doesn't share the same music taste as I do. He might be creep out by Eden but I find it interesting. I love Saxophone so I would be there listening! What else... All in All I think it is pretty diverse and there should be something for everyone. Sitar player?!

 

I am not sure if Fibonacci and Cruising mix but maybe my math skills will be improved over a few cocktails! It will be interesting to see what this is about.  I am not a math nerd but I am in Finance and deal with numbers on a daily basis!

Maybe the unusual things will get old, but for now this ship is an adventure for me. It looks like a lot of firsts for me - dangling 16 stories above the ocean, walking the catwalk in the theater, interacting with a snakeman during a sinful evening in Eden, eating dinner while a tiny chef runs around my plate, wake up in a bed facing the ocean, becoming another person for an evening in the Club, soak in a martini glass, have a romantic poem written for my DH and now I have found out that I can listen to a sitar and a didgeridoo onboard? Sounds groovy to me!!

Just think, after a few sailings, if there is not a very good reception for such activities, they will be rotated out for something else, I Am sure...

 

Then again, you might board and find them very appealing and very different than what many think they might be...

Do you think they will run the contents of the App on the in room TV or someplace in the lobby area?   It seems like great info...but not able to get it on my tablet at all....

That’s s great idea. I’ll bet they do. They may be able to help you load the app in the ILounge. I’m sure a lot of people will be in there asking for help. 😃

Thanks for the suggestion but when I go to the Playstore, and try for the blue Celeb app,  it clearly says  it is not compatible with my device..Samsung Android tablet

 

I may break down and try to install it on my phone....but usually keep that OFF and in the safe.  Seems like a handy app...just for getting the daily calendars. We'll see how it goes.
