New Program called "The Key"

I am looking for feedback on The Key on the LOS from those who have already purchased it and cruised.  (I am not looking for personal opinions about the program itself.)

I saw initial reviews that indicated the LOS staff was not prepared, but that was after the first week the program was active.  With a little over a month now, I would like to see what the feedback is (more recently).

A specific question relates to priority port departure.  Our terms indicate that is included and is not specific to tendering.  Is that the case?

TIA

Not in the category you request but an inquiry indicated that at ports you basically get treated with upper level suite guests, so whatever priority options exist at that port for them is what you will use.  Not all ports have them because of the way the docks are set up, etc.

Makes sense.  On most ships there aren't that many higher end suites, so this allows them to monetize an already existing process.

I'm going to assume this is the same as FTTF on another cruise line?

I have done FTTF.   But once I added in the other cruise lines Premium Wi-Fi Plan (which is not as good as VOOM) the price was similar if not more.   Without internet it's a much better deal.

I don’t understand why some are upset over this pass... anyways. I am going on a November 2019 cruise and I just purchased this perk. I think it’s a nice offer as it will only be my son and I for his birthday cruise. I spoke to my cruise planner and she verified that they only sell 100 per ship. My son loves the FloRider and it never seems to be enough time for him so this will be great for him. I like the shows and I hate rushing so that’s my perk. Also avoiding the Windjammer on the first day... definitely a plus! Getting on and off faster in every aspect... plus plus!! Dropping off my 12 pack of water and not lugging it around... yass!

I had actually forgotten what a nightmare the Windjammer can be on the first day!! My husband has never cruised, so I’m hoping to have Day 1 be as stress-free as possible. A nice lunch should help with that. If I ever want to go on anymore cruises, we gotta keep Papa happy! 😂😂😂

Have you counted the people that are excited about the Flowrider in this thread alone?

Every 2.nd post they want to use it.... so get in line early! 😁

100 people per ship for the Key.  Will the disembarkation be like pinnacles and suites?  The concierge escorts pinnacles and suite people to the very front and often takes them to a special place for customs.

Not 100% sure if disembarkation is the same as Pinnacle or Suites. I’m only a Diamond (14 pts away from D+ “) and we just got a balcony room this time around. I did read on another article that after Breakfast someone escorts you to the 5th level to disembark.

Could you please provide your documentation that it is indeed more than 100? We purchased it but if you have different information, that would be helpful.

No one really knows, so what ever  Thorben-Hendrik  thinks is just his opinion. But we all know for sure it is not unlimited because if it was there is no way they could save 4 or 500 seats at those shows for those that bought "The Key".........

For starters 100 cabins? Muster stations? Decks?

No documentation at all.... User Twangster started that rumor.... posted it to 100.000 websites and blogs and now everybody takes it to be true! 🙄

Alternative fact at its best! 👍

I think I would be more worried if everyone on this thread was actually on the same cruise.  The posts here are spread across multiple ships over more than a year.  Doesn't seem like something to worry about yet.

We are not going till summer on a port intensive med cruise, so we won't even be on the boat during the day to use the flowrider perk. That is now only 94 people left to stand in line. And my guess is most of them will be in port too.

Hey everyone, So I finally was just able to do the online check-in for our upcoming Anthem trip on Jan 26. The earliest time I could get for our arrival time was 12-12:30. We signed up for The Key program which has lunch on the first day in Chops from 11:30-1:30. I'm concerned we won't actually get on the ship in time to enjoy it. Which would be really unfortunate.

Is that the earliest time anyone can pick from? Should we show up earlier since we have Key? How long does it actually take to get on the ship if we arrive at 12? Any thoughts?

Thank you!  Maybe I should start a new thread!

It doesn't matter what time you have. You can check in any time after it opens... key or no key.

You can show up anytime you like to board the ship. They just do that on online check-in to stagger when everyone gets there.........But they ARE NOT going to turn you away and tell you to comeback later if you get there at 10:30am...........go when it is good for you and you will be fine.

Thank you both. I was hoping that was the case. What time do they usually start letting people on the ship?

The key program on my cruise planner says 19.95 pp pd. I was interested in the Voom package which is included the Key Program.. The Voom package is I believe the same price for 2 people so for me I think this would be something I would consider. Plus I feel with the price I get extra perks!

I happened upon Cruise Compasses for the 2 December and 16 December 7 night cruises on Oasis of the Seas (Eastern) and thought it would be interesting to see if I could figure out The Key Flowrider hours for those cruises. The results were a bit confusing to me because the two cruises show different patterns, so if anyone has (or gets) information on how Oasis is handling FlowRider and The Key Hours for FlowRider, that would be great information for me as it seems Royal is changing how they do things on Oasis. Note: Times on the left column are from the Cruise Compasses and I treat them as fact. Thoughts on the right column are my suppositions and could be off base.

2 December 2018

Day 1 : Boogie Board 1:00-2:15 / 4:45-6:00

             Standup 1:00-3:15 / 4:45-7:00

Looks like 2 one hour sessions for The Key

Day 2: BB 1:00-6:00

            SU 1:00-6:00

Looks like 0 hours for The Key.

Day 3: BB 10:00-6:00

            SU 9:00-6:00

Looks like 1 hour for The Key

Day 4: BB 9:00-noon / 5:00-7:00

            SU 9:00- noon / 4:00-7:00

Looks like 1 hour for The Key

Day 5: BB 9:00-11:00 / 4:00-7:00

            SU 9:00- 11:00 / 4:00-7:00

Looks like 0 hours for The Key

Day 6: BB 10:00-6:00

            SU 9:00-6:00

Looks like 1 hour for The Key

Day 7: BB 10:00-6:00

            SU 9:00-6:00

Looks like 1 hour for The Key

16 December 2018

Day 1 : Boogie Board 12:00-1:30 / 4:30-5:30

             Standup 1:30-3:15 / 5:30-7:00

This confuses me. It looks like they are operating one side of Flowrider only

and alternating between Standup and Boogie. I don't know if the other side

is closed or open for The Key.

Day 2: BB 1:00-6:00

            SU 1:00-6:00

Looks like 0 hours for The Key

Day 3: BB 10:00-6:00

            SU 9:00-6:00

Looks like 1 hour for The Key

Day 4: BB 9:00-11:00 / 3:00-7:00

            SU 9:00- 11:00 / 3:00-7:00

Looks like 0 hours for The Key

Day 5: BB 9:00-11:00 / 4:00-7:00

            SU 9:00- 11:00 / 4:00-7:00

Looks like 0 hours for The Key

Day 6: BB 10:00-6:00

            SU 9:00-6:00

Looks like 1 hour for The Key

Day 7: BB 10:00-6:00

            SU 9:00-6:00

Looks like 1 hour for The Key

Based on the times it looks like they removed The Key FlowRider hours from Port Days completely, and are doing something different on Embarkation Day. I hope they spread out the times for Flowrider. I think 9AM works for us, but I would imagine late sleepers would be disappointed if 9AM was the only time offered.
