Where is "The Blend" located Ann? Thanks!

On the Koningsdam it was right across from America’s Test Kitchen now the “Spectacular and Lavish Orange Club.”☹️☹️We never saw anyone blending wine. Looked like wasted space.

Thanks for posting the Breakfast menu!  Very pleased to see that Swedish Pancakes are still on the menu.  I "discovered" this delicious item very late on my Zaandam cruise.  I am glad that I will be able to enjoy it again!

A comment about the missing Medallions at the Mariner Society function:  a bit of perspective may be desirable here.  This is a Maiden Voyage.  Maiden Voyages are not always known for everything going well and according to plan.  (Many on the Titanic would have willingly substituted any medal they might have received for what happened to them.)  Some Maiden Voyages still find workmen "finishing getting the ship ready for service" which does not seem to be happening on Nieuw Statendam.  Was there a "screw-up" by someone(s), somewhere?  Clearly, yes.  Were some guests disappointed and should they have been?  Yes.  But, this is clearly a First World Problem.

Ahoy Fun Folks!

My husband and I are so excited about joining you all on the Nieuw Statendam next Wednesday in Ft.L.  We will be celebrating our 30th Anniversary as husband and wife, so we will be ready to party!  We haven't been to Nassau since 1980 when we sailed there on our sailboat. All I remember doing back then was drinking at the Poop Deck and going to the straw Market.  It was just too hectic after being on a slow moving sailboat for 2 weeks!    Fast forward to now, we don't have the time or interest in doing that anymore!  That is sailing long distances on our boat.  So we have found the joy of Cruise ship sailing!!  My husband doesn't have to navigate, put out fires, unstop the toilet and be wet and miserable all night long while on watch!  Hey, you get smarter as you get older!  :classic_biggrin:  Getting back to Nassau....does anyone have a suggestion on what to do ashore??    We thought about going to the Cloisters and maybe the Rum Distillery and maybe going back to the Poop Deck for old times sake! Open for suggestions.... Also would like to join in on the Cruise Critic Meet and Mingle.

Janice and Jack

As a follow up to my post (#59), the Port Schedule for Port Everglades is now showing your arrival on the 19th, but at 03:30!

Scheduled 12/19/2018  03:30 ARR       NIEUW STATENDAM     From: SEA BUOY     To: Terminal 26

No water cannons and fancy escorts at THAT hour, for sure!  *sigh*

But remember, all of us who are sailing out that day will really be glad to see you all!

I noticed them, too, and was really disappointed that they are served with a "mixed berry compote," not the lingonberries traditionally accompanying them.  Sad.  :classic_sad:

Where does one go to find the Port Schedule??

https://pevvesseltraffic.broward.org/webx/

-or-

go to http://www.porteverglades.net, hover or click on Cruising in the orange bar, then go to Ship Schedule.  That is how I get there.

And, thanks!  I've got you on the list for the Meet and Mingle.  Will be glad to meet you both!

Bon Voyage!

Am I on the roll call for the Dec 19th Nieuw Statendam??  ??  It's been a while since I have done this...

Well, I don't really know, but you are certainly on the Meet & Mingle list, because I just put you both there! It is at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 20 in the Billboard Onboard Venue.

So Barbara, are you on the ship now??

No, I am sitting here in my home office in Ellenton, just north of you. :classic_wink:

Ann, sorry we have "crashed" your thread here.  (Blingz, if you want to message me directly through CC, please do.  Or, we can post on the Roll Call board https://www.cruisecritic.com/rollcalls/pinnacle-class--december-19-2018/ ok?)

Have you seen Karaoke at any time? I didn't see it on any of the daily guides, but thought I might have missed it.  My brother really likes to do it and he's cruising with us this time.  Thanks for all of the great info.

I haven’t noticed any karaoke.  But it may be somewhere!

You are very welcome to join in - and maybe you will want to continue the Live From after some of us disembark on the 19th.

I can can see some of you are getting excited about getting on the ship.  We will be sad to be leaving.

Guy in the top pic has the face of Willem Alexander, the Dutch King on :classic_biggrin:

Yes, that was so funny - he was giving everyone the royal wave!

We said it was more fun than the Black and White Ball! Hope they continue with it.
