BENHANDEL Posted December 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2018 Please don't tease me for this dumb question. I am a nervous rule-following newbie... The only part of the boarding pass we need is the top, right? I would like to cut it so it fits better with my travel documents but don't want it to be "voided" because it is not the full page. And yes I know I can fold....but 5 sheets of paper is pretty tight in my travel folio. Thanks for real answers and not humiliating comments! coevan Posted December 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 11, 2018 most important is the part with the barcode.
Lottacruises Posted December 11, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2018 You can cut it. About the top third is all you need.
cb at sea Posted December 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 11, 2018 You will even be allowed to board without it....no worries.
bakersdozen12 Posted December 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted December 11, 2018 Not a stupid question at all! Welcome to cruising. 😊
BENHANDEL Posted December 11, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted December 11, 2018 Thanks, all! I am less than 2 weeks away and trying to make sure I have everything in place!
Shaded Lady Posted December 11, 2018 #7 Share Posted December 11, 2018 BENHANDEL I always tell my hubby better that I obsess about these things before the cruise, then when we board I can forget all about it... if left to him we'd forget our passports AND our underwear! And that is why I make lists! 1 1
Lottacruises Posted December 11, 2018 #8 Share Posted December 11, 2018 (edited) Some ports won't let you in without it. Others will print one for you at the port. You must keep it with you until you start heading up the gangway though. Have fun. Edited December 11, 2018 by Lottacruises
Moviela Posted December 11, 2018 #9 Share Posted December 11, 2018 I feel your pain. I use the power of reduction for our boarding pass, itinerary, rental, hotel, airline, and excursions. I use 50% reduction and print on both sides. That way you get four 8.5 x 11" pages on a single sheet of paper. Seldom takes more than three sheets of paper. I use a yellow highlighter on reservation numbers and an orange highlighter on phone numbers. I also preload the phone numbers into my phone, along with a .pdf of the booklet referenced above. I also preload Google Maps for offline use for the areas in foreign countries I visit, so if cell service is spotty, I can still navigate the terra firma. You will have a great time taking the A1A North to Orlando after your cruise.
Djptcp Posted December 11, 2018 #10 Share Posted December 11, 2018 As a retired librarian, I will say there are no stupid questions after living a lifetime of answering questions. I also cut the boarding passes in half, so no worries. Have a great cruise! 2
teknoge3k Posted December 11, 2018 #11 Share Posted December 11, 2018 The boarding pass is literally the only piece of paper that goes with us on a cruise. Someone said you could just show a pdf rather than the actual paper so I will be trying that on our upcoming cruise. It will be nice to not have ANY papers with us. 1
Athankfulheart Posted December 11, 2018 #12 Share Posted December 11, 2018 I print my boarding passes to 1/4th the page and cut so they fit in my passport. Thats my just in case there is an issue with the one on my phone. 1

Moviela Posted December 12, 2018 #14 Share Posted December 12, 2018 Google Maps is easy. Open program on your phone. Look for the three lines on the top left. Click on them. A menu opens. Click on "Offline Maps" A new page opens on a map where you are. Pinch the map to include the whole continent. Then move to where you are wanting to download. Include an area just larger than where you will be, and click download. It will download as Map1. Rename it to the city so you can find it later. It will put all the google knowledge on your phone, so you can use it without cell service.
