I wonder if it depends on the port and/or sail date. I'll check back later and see if it updates I guess.

I don't know. I sail out of Galveston on both cruises. The first one on February 9th, a 5 day with friends and relatives and that boarding pass is like the old ones. The second boarding pass was printed 3 days later for our  February 28th Panama Canal  trip and that one has the new BOARDING ZONE spot.

We are Gold members and our cruise on the Breeze 12/8 - 12/15.  This is how Carnival did for Pt. Canaveral and on our sailing.

  • We got Boarding Pass  time of 11:30 - 12:00 (MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR BOARDING PASS WITH YOU).  They will not let you inside WITHOUT the pass.
  • Arrived to the pier around 11:00 and received a Boarding Zone 9.
  • Inside the pier, they told you to sit with your boarding zone number (the place is not big enough for everyone they let in).
  • There is a room set aside for Diamond/Platinum members (they would be the first to board).
  • After 12PM they started to announce the boarding.  After Diamond/Platinum, wedding parties, handicapped etc.. groups, our zone did not board after 12:30 PM

It was a new procedure for us but did not realize the debarkation was as bad or worse (after 8 cruises the Carnival even on the same time last year on the Magic).

Happy cruising.

I printed two sets of boarding passes over the weekend, both with FTTF...it looks like Boarding zone is based on appointment time.

New colors, your FTTF and Priority endorsements are a different color. They're really trying to confuse us or direct us from talking about more serious stuff. 🙂

For a Conquest premier casino sailing Feb 16, we have a 12:00 - 12:30 check in window and a boarding zone # B-2.

For a Magic Ultra casino sailing Mar. 17, I have a 12:30 - 1:00 check in window and a boarding zone # A-1.

As a Diamond, I''ll probably arrive at the parking garage around 11AM for both.  I realize that both the check in and now boarding times have values due to Carnival's IT people failing to differentiate priority status.

{And if Carnival does away with Diamond priority boarding, I'll probably increase the # of non Carnival cruises I booked.  As it is, I pretty much only book either Carnival casino fares or their new ship builds.}

We sail this Saturday out of Miami on the Glory and I just looked again, no boarding zone for us. Our boarding time is 11:30 -12:00 is that the first boarding time after all the priority boarding?

That is not your boarding time, rather the arrival at the pier appointment.

Ah yes, it does say arrival appointment. Thanks for pointing that out. Do we board soon after this time though?

When you board is dependent on a number of factors:

  • When the ship is cleared from the previous cruise
  • When the ship is given clearance to board
  • The number of weddings boarding
  • Then Diamonds/Platinums will board
  • Then FTTF will board
  • Then it depends on how many people checked in before you. They will board by zone number (which is still apparently assigned when you check in, if not on your boarding pass)

Hello, I am sailing the same ship and port on Feb 9. I have a 11:30 check-in also. I think this is the earliest they give for regular people. If I am reading this correctly, you were there before 11:30 but you were still allowed in the building?  You skipped the step where you go to the check-in counter and do all the check-in stuff (picture, credit card, show id, etc). Were you able to do all that before your 11:30 appt, or were you told to wait?

We are on that cruise.  Our boarding pass has the spot for boarding zone but it is empty.

If you get to the pier before 11:30 check-in time, they will let you inside to check in.  Remember the check in procedure will be different once it completed you just have to wait on the 2nd floor until your assigned zone call it can be anytime after that.  The counter check was no longer in used (they did not ask about credit card info or taken your picture).  On the sailing database they retrieved the picture from the passport photo.

Hope I give you a clear picture on boarding procedure.  Hope everything would work out well for you.

Happy cruising.

I hope this means things have improved since my 2017 Christmas cruise. We arrived after 12, waited in a line to be dropped of by the shuttle, then waited outside for over an hour to enter the building. Check-in went smoothly after that, however. By the time we got on the ship it was after 2pm and we dropped our carry-ons off at our rooms. We were eating (long lines for food, too.) when they started calling the muster drill. I hope to have an early experience this year by arriving to the port by 11am.

The key to getting on the ship early is to either have some type of priority or have an early check-in time. Of course as others have stated in this thread, there are a lot of things that can delay when they start to board the ship.

Just printed our boarding passes for Liberty out of Port Canaveral Feb 17, 2019 and there is no entry in the Boarding Zone.

Same here for Port Canaveral on the Sunshine, Feb 23, 2019. Blank "Boarding Zone" but in the red area to the right, it says "Final Boarding 3:00PM"
