RnC49critic Posted December 31, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2018 (edited) Hello - We usually cruise out of Cape Liberty. RC is moving Anthem and my husband and I are beside ourselves. We want to go back to Canada fall of 2020 but don't know much the incoming ships. I have a couple of questions about Voyager of the Seas and Adventure of the Seas. 1) Does Voyager have a covered solarium? 2) Do the Voyager cabin showers have doors or curtains? 1) Is Adventure of the Seas a nice ship? 2) I believe that Adventure is the sister to Explorer but it has been years since we have sailed Explorer. If memory serves me the solarium is not covered? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you! Clarea Posted December 31, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2018 No covered Solarium on either ship. Both have shower doors in non-suite staterooms. Both are nice ships.

voyager70 Posted December 31, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 31, 2018 Also, balconies are built into the hull of the ship. Some people don't like them as they think they feel too dark and closed in, but I love the extra privacy they provide. I've done multiple sailings on Voyager and Adventure (have been on Anthem as well) and wouldn't hesitate to book either ship.

Balsam12 Posted January 1, 2019 #7 Share Posted January 1, 2019 Not sure if you are aware, but all three ships you mention are Voyager class, so are all very similar. Voyager is getting the Royal Amplified upgrade in 2019, Explorer in 2020, and Adventure in 2021.

Basically the same ship.

Vision's cabins have shower curtains. Adventure's cabins have the tubes. Adventure is similar to what you remember about Explorer, except that she has been recently updated.

RnC49critic Posted January 13, 2019 Author #12 Share Posted January 13, 2019 A couple of more questions about Adventure of the Seas........ One thing we have noticed is the beds on RC are becoming more and more uncomfortable. How uncomfortable are the beds in the balcony cabins? Are the beds in the suites more comfortable on Adventure? We love Vintages wine bar and noticed that there isn’t one on this ship. Do they offer as good a selection of wine in the bars that they do have on this ship? Are the whirlpools heated on this ship? Thank you in advance for any input you may have.

Good wine selection at the Champagne Bar, MDR, and specialty restaurants.

Just off the Adventure in an aft balcony. Bed was a little on the hard side but still comfortable. The bed linens felt pretty good. Not the softest, but still decent. (The couch, which pulls out as a sleeper, is VERY hard to sit on.) Can't comment on a difference between balcony and suite beds, but we slept well, which for me, is saying a lot!
