MrmrsSteelman Posted January 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2019 We are on our first cruise leaving Sunday! Doing the western Caribbean on the getaway. I googled the weather and it's looking like rain most of the week. Anyone been down there recently? Has it been rainy?
Rare ColeThornton Posted January 3, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2019 Doesn't matter what it has been lately but in the Caribbean it may have a forecast for rain but very often it's hit and miss and may only rain for a short time.
tallnthensome Posted January 3, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2019 We've been on cruises where it was predicted to rain every day but didn't at all. Like Cole said, it ,ay rain for a few minutes and b
dolita22 Posted January 3, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2019 Yep, it'll likely be spotty rain on one part of an island, but not the other. Or last just a few minutes. It's not considered the rainy season in the Caribbean this time of year, so you'll likely see sunshine most of the time and possibly a quick-moving rain shower or two. Enjoy! In spite of what others have said it is is rainy season. We had bad weather all day for four days. It rained off and on but was cloudy and cool all four days (both sea days, Roatan and Harvest Caye). Don't count on hit nd miss showers, this is the time of the year that it rains all day. Keep in mind it is the weather and mother nature does what she wants. Rare BirdTravels Posted January 4, 2019 #6 Share Posted January 4, 2019 (edited) Ask Siri. She'll tell you to bring an umbrella. Looks like a good chance of rain next week. Edited January 4, 2019 by BirdTravels
casofilia Posted January 4, 2019 #7 Share Posted January 4, 2019 Unless Siri is actually in the Western Caribbean at the present time I wish she would tell you to take an umbrella.
Laszlo Posted January 4, 2019 #8 Share Posted January 4, 2019 (edited) The forecast this far out won't even be close Lol. Our last Western two years ago out of Tampa had rain the entire week, the forecast never changed the Sunday with left Tampa. Guess what, it was Sunny and 85f the entire week we only had one rain shower at night LOL Edited January 4, 2019 by Laszlo
Markanddonna Posted January 4, 2019 #9 Share Posted January 4, 2019 Are you departing from Tampa? You might want to read about how the fog affected those starting and ending their cruises. No fault of the cruise companies.
