BENHANDEL Posted January 19, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2019 We have only been on one CCL voyage. On that one the adults had Cheers! and our dinner servers were super good to our kids....(only our 16 yo had the bubbles) so we never once learned the price of beverages for the kids, lol. I have a quick cruise in March with a dear friend and our kids. We will not have Cheers! so I am trying to weigh the benefits of bottomless bubbles for the kids. The oldest wants it again, but the others would likely only drink soda in the dining room. Without bubbles, would we be charged for each refill at dinner? How much is a serving of coke? TIA. Yes, you will be charged for refills (cans). $1.95 plus 18% I think

BENHANDEL Posted January 19, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted January 19, 2019 If we bring it on board, can we bring cans to dinner? Seems tacky...

teknoge3k Posted January 19, 2019 #8 Share Posted January 19, 2019 We always take our sodas on board with us and yes we take them to the dining room. We keep them in our fridge so our cans are cold but if you want ice, the wait staff will bring you a glass of ice if you wish.

You could always pour it into one of the ship’s cups and bring it to dinner like that if you prefer.
RWolver672 Posted January 22, 2019 #10 Share Posted January 22, 2019 Seeing how you can stop at any bar on your way to the dining room and buy sodas, they have no idea if you did that or brought it from your cabin.
Sauer-kraut Posted January 22, 2019 #11 Share Posted January 22, 2019 Not tacky at all to carry in your own can of pop.

Seems tacky... if you prefer, you can either purchase a Tervis tumbler on the ship (at either the Red Frog Pub or the Blue Iguana bar) or bring one of your own from home, stop by the ice dispenser on the Lido deck to get ice, pour the soda in the tumbler and carry that into the MDR. We've done that before and no one has said a word about it.
sanger727 Posted January 23, 2019 #13 Share Posted January 23, 2019 On cruises my bf only drinks the self serve drinks from the buffet. He brings a large bubba mug and carries it around the ship with him. I will often stop off for a pre-dinner drink and carry one into dinner with me. No one bats an eye about bringing your own drink in.

RWolver672 Posted January 24, 2019 #15 Share Posted January 24, 2019 It's actually smart to either bring your own or stop at a bar and get your drink before you enter the dining room. If you order a drink in the dining room, sometimes you meal is almost over before the drink arrives.
