NextLevelPlease Posted February 2, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2019 Hi guys :-) I have read many conversations about drink packages. No one seems to be asking the question I have: How do you enjoy the drink package in your room? When I am in a cabin with a balcony - I am there most of the time. I want to enjoy my cocktails while watching the ocean go by! It seems, to use the drink package, you have to go out and get the drink. Aside from asking the bartenders to give me drinks with caps on them what else is there to do? Most drinks with caps or tops are beer and maybe a mini champagne? How do I enjoy my drink package from my balcony? Any thoughts regarding this? Thanks so much!
tallnthensome Posted February 2, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 2, 2019 This is the same for every cruise line ..... Just have to bring it back from the bar. Beer you can get uncracked sometimes from bar tenders. You sort of answered your own question though.
NextLevelPlease Posted February 2, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted February 2, 2019 Yes... that is the only answer I can see. Was wondering if there was something I missed. Like being allowed to take multiple glasses to the cabin?
tallnthensome Posted February 2, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 2, 2019 You can take back as many glasses or drinks that you can carry .... May have to order one at time over a few minutes then carry them back ..... put them in the mini fridge for a bit until you want to drink them . NextLevelPlease Posted February 2, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted February 2, 2019 Got it! The sophisticated bag lady - hoarding her drinks. Hmmm... oh well.... At least the wine will get a chance to breathe!
Sauer-kraut Posted February 2, 2019 #6 Share Posted February 2, 2019 (edited) Get a large mouth thermos, order 2 drinks from every bar on the way back to your balcony, pouring each drink into the thermos before arriving at the next bar. This really only works if you order the same cocktail every time. 🙂 Edited February 2, 2019 by Sauer-kraut 5
NextLevelPlease Posted February 2, 2019 Author #7 Share Posted February 2, 2019 LoVe it! I knew someone would have a great idea! Thank you!
Nola26 Posted February 2, 2019 #8 Share Posted February 2, 2019 (edited) You can get up to two drinks at a time, being them back and enjoy. After two drinks you either doze off of fame a short walk to refill. No one is coming to the cabin to serve you on the package. HowardK Posted February 3, 2019 #9 Share Posted February 3, 2019 What about using a water bottle? If it is 32 ounces you could fit a few beers or mojitos in it. It's a good idea and I might try it- it would be good to be able to get a drink 6am before heading out sometimes to the gym or breakfast

realnurse2 Posted February 3, 2019 #13 Share Posted February 3, 2019 Also take a dollar store tray with you in your luggage and you can carry your drinks back without spillage!

NextLevelPlease Posted February 3, 2019 Author #15 Share Posted February 3, 2019 Of course! there is such a thing! 2 even! But really Cruise Lines, Drink Package users may not WANT (or perhaps can't) hit a bar or restaurant for a drink. 15 times a day... How about a bottle = 5 drinks? don't-use-real-name Posted February 3, 2019 #16 Share Posted February 3, 2019 You could alternatively order a Bar-Set-Up from Room Service LINK below and have full liter bottles to mix and pour your favorite drink. But this is at odds with the UBP - you could have both if you can afford it ! In addition to the Bar-Set-Up program is the Buckets of beer* and the Viva Vino wine packages. * Bucket of beer - buy 5 get one free But if you have the UBP this is sort of overkill. Bar-Set-Up LINK: NOTE DATE 2013 - just to give a idea of what is offered These alcoholic beverages are sold as Bar Set Up amenity orders. Available on all Ships excluding Pride of America. Please Note: Pricing from Nov. 2013 Bar Set-Up is available for all stateroom categories. Bar Set-Up is available for purchase onboard but you will be charged 15% on top of the price of the bottle instead of the $3 service fee. Bar Set-Up must be pre-arranged before the voyage and can be requested up to the day prior to sailing. Prices are subject to change. Service fee of $3.00 per bottle will be applied. 1.800.327.7030 Bourbon/Whiskey Seagram's 7 Crown $80 1 Ltr Jack Daniel's Black $100 1 Ltr Crown Royal Special Reserve $100 750 Ml Cognac Courvoisier VS $120 750 ml Rémy Martin V.S.O.P $100 700 ml Gin Beefeater $80 1 Ltr Bombay Sapphire $100 1 Ltr Liqueurs Baileys Irish Cream $100 1 Ltr Southern Comfort $100 1 Ltr Disaronno Amaretto $100 1 Ltr Godiva Chocolate $100 750 Ml Grand Marnier $100 1 Ltr Kahlua $100 1 Ltr Rum Bacardi Superior $80 1 Ltr Captain Morgan $80 1 Ltr Scotch Whiskey J&B Rare $80 1 Ltr Glenfiddich $100 1 Ltr Chivas Regal $100 1 Ltr JW Black $123 980 Ml Tequila Cuervo Gold $80 1 Ltr 1800 Reposado $100 750 Ml Don Julio Reposado $120 750 Ml Vodka Smirnoff $80 1 Ltr Absolut $100 1 Ltr Absolut Citron $100 1 Ltr Absolut Apeach $100 1 Ltr Grey Goose $120 1 Ltr Grey Goose L'Orange $120 1 Ltr Grey Goose La Poire $120 1 Ltr
Rare BirdTravels Posted February 3, 2019 #17 Share Posted February 3, 2019 So,,, you need to book a room on a Breakaway+ ship right in front of the brew house. Shorten the trip from bar to balcony.

Thank for the info and the link. Yes the bar set up is a good idea. Yes that with the UBP would be over kill. Maybe just choose one or the other! NextLevelPlease Posted February 3, 2019 Author #21 Share Posted February 3, 2019 I wonder with the UBP if I can take a bucket of beer at a time to the room. Now THAT would be reasonable! I am sure I will be underutilizing the UBP. I am more of a laze-in-the-sun and read-a-good-book Sea Day cruiser. Running to bars and collecting things to take back to the room... doesn't sound relaxing to me.
NLH Arizona Posted February 3, 2019 #22 Share Posted February 3, 2019 Maybe I'm incorrect, but I thought you couldn't by the bucket of beers with the UBP.

We usually save our wine from our platinum wine instead of drinking it at dinner. Then we do have wine in our cabin if we want to enjoy a glass or two. We do, love that night cap, so stop by a bar on the way back to the cabin at night Otherwise we just survive without it.
