Carry on wine from a port

This is our first time sailing on Royal Caribbean and I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer to.

 

I know we can carry on 2, 750ml bottles of wine to drink in our room on boarding day. My question is, can we carry on 2 more 750ml bottles of wine to drink when we stop at a port?

You can carry them on at any port (except the embarkation port) but they will be taken from you. You will get the them back the last evening of your cruise.

Guests are not allowed to bring beer, hard liquor or non-alcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any other use. Guests may bring personal wine and champagne onboard only in their carry-on luggage on boarding day, limited to two (2) 750 ml bottles per stateroom. Additional bottles of wine beyond two (2) bottles that are brought onboard or any alcoholic beverages purchased in ports-of-call or from Shops On Board will be stored by the ship and delivered to your stateroom on the last day of the sailing.

Is there a good place to buy those 2 bottles of wine at the port of Miami before boarding the ship ?

two bottles on first day only and I was told they have to be in carry on bag

not checked bag

There are absolutely no stores at the Port Of Miami. If you want to stop for wine any Publix Supermarket has a very nice selection of any variety of wine you can think of. There are numerous Publix Supermarkets in the Miami Dade area.

This was from our "Guest Ticket Booklet" for our January 2019 sailing on the Anthem of the Seas:

 

"Alcohol PolicyGuests are not allowed to bring beer, hard liquor, fortified wines (vermouth, sherry, sake, and port wines) or nonalcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any other use. Guests may bring personal wine or champagne onboard only on embarkation day, limited to two (2) bottles (no boxes) of 750 ml each per stateroom. Wine should be brought onboard via carry on if possible. Luggage containing wine or champagne will not be delivered to the stateroom and guests will need to retrieve their luggage from security once the ship has set sail. Only staterooms with at least one (1) guest over 21 years of age are eligible to bring bottles of wine or champagne onboard. Guests may request a corkscrew to use for opening bottles in their stateroom"

 

We had 2 bottles of wine we brought from home in a checked bag for our flight to Bayonne, NJ.  That bag arrived at our cabin's door before the "cabin ready" time of 2:00pm on the Anthem of the Seas.  I was totally prepared to go claim my bag at security, if needed.  Was pleased I didn't have too. Maybe this isn't the case on all ships, but this was our experience.

You were just lucky. Have seen checked bags stopped with soda/water in them now and drinks held until end of cruise

Maybe we were lucky that we didn't need to go claim our luggage in security, but as far as packing our wine in the checked bag: RCCL's own verbiage in their ticket states wine should go in carry on IF POSSIBLE.  It was not possible to make it through TSA with wine in our carry on, therefore it was in our checked bag.

Pretty sure that other released documents from Royal state you must carry on, but they didnt update your's with the 2018 change. But that's Royal...
