I use the Princess PVP solely now.  She is always responsive and does not bother me.  I call her.  The last time I talked to her she asked me if she could send me alerts of new cruises just being posted and so now I do get emails from her with that information as well as sales coming.  I am perfectly happy with my PVP.

On the other hand I had three different TA that I have had the misfortune to deal with mostly when we first started cruising.  One I had Princess pull back two reservations from him because all he did was complain I was a hard client.  I watch the cruise offers after I book watching for better deals and then called him.  I guess that made me a difficult client.  The others did not listen to what I wanted in a cabin and kept insisting on cabins I do not like.  I did do one with a web based TA but all he did was take over a booking I had done with Princess and was difficult to contact for price reductions.  He gave each of us a $75 OBC (whoopie!) after I did all the work.  I have two that keep sending me literature on the cruises they offer which go quickly in the circular file after removing the address label.   I am burned out on a TA but happy to hear others have found one they like.

I do use a big box warehouse TA to book cruises on Carnival because dealing with those people in Miami is one huge PITA and let him argue with them.  I pick the cruise and cabin that I want and is available according to the website and he books it for me.  He does give me an nice reward for doing it.

We have also used the same PCP for years. He's very responsive and has, on occasion, gotten us rooms and /or rates that weren't showing on the website. Overall, we've been very happy with him.

Never had one and don't think I was ever offered one.  We had one on Carnival years ago and he would call me with deals to cruise destinations we enjoyed.  Back then you could easily re-fare and upgrade your cabin as pricing got better, it was nice, but we haven't cruised Carnival as a family ever.

We’ve had the same one for years, but I always book myself. She never advises when better deals come up. I do all the work myself and have to call her if I see a better deal.

My husband got an email about a players club discount. He called her and left a detailed message. She never called him back. When I went to make my final payment he price was $700 lower. I guess she reduced the fare which was great, but she could have had the decency to return his call 🤷🏽‍♀️

Our website doesn’t always have the most update information, but I have confirmed these terms and conditions based on your inquiry.

Also, the terms and conditions for Australia based cruises has changed to be available to pre purchase the PBP.

There’s no direct number for the inventory department so they can flag your booking or member account, because this is an internal department that will reach out to our guests as need be for voyages.

Since you are not incline to await my response or my service during my available work hours, then you are welcome to contact 800-princess at any time for immediate assistance.

I will withdraw my complimentary services as your cruise planner as I have other guest that are awaiting a response from me directly. Thank you for your business and we appreciate your loyalty to Princess Cruises.

I have never booked Australia, so don't know what you are referring to.

Exactly ... I was asking my "previous PVP" about why the PVP was not available for our upcoming 3 day cruise ... when THEIR website clearly states that the PBP is not available for cruises 2 days or less

she came back with that Australia babble ... like I cared about that now ...:classic_wacko:

Oh, I see, I misread what you were saying. I thought you were saying that to me as a PVP. Sorry about that.

We have found the PVP is a very transient position. They offer no additional discounts or special fares that you could not get on your own.

I suggest you find a great TA who can give you excellent personal customer service and 8% to 12% off your cruise.

I'm not so sure about the no additional discounts part. My PVP has twice refared for me at a lower price that what I saw on the website, prompting my email to her. Was a pleasant surprise each time.

Ditto.  I got a fantastic deal that wasn’t showing up online for a Suite upgrade.  My PCP gets back to me incredibly fast.  She and I barely speak and she just does what I want and then I get a revised booking reservation.  I send her an email to check into something, if she finds that she got a better deal by comparing what I have, she just takes care of it without calling.  She’s not been wrong yet with her instinct on what I would prefer.

Sure, like most, I do the initial work and then email, then she takes care of it.  I don’t have to get into finding my CCN or FCD or Casino Discount or dining preference, etc; she takes care of every from my initial email and my account, and then bam, I receive my favorite email in the world from Reservations@princesscruises.com and it’s always correct.

No complaints here.  I had a great one for years and she went on an extended leave.  So, I got a replacement assigned to me and she was like some of the ones that are described in this thread.  That lasted 2 reservations, and both were problematic (no return emails or calls or reductions (as a matter of fact, I started waiting for off hours to get the Helpdesk which were more helpful then my replacement PCP)).  So, On one call with the helpdesk, we were just chatting about it and she said she was going to speak with her supervisor and get back to me.  She called me back with a new PCP.  Since then it has been great again.  As such, I would recommend asking for a supervisor to assign you a new PCP if you are unhappy.  There should be no reason for Princess to ignore that request if you are unsatisfied.

A PCP has no more power to grant discounts than a regular Princess rep does.

For the “special” rates you both get a great TA could knock more than 10% off that rate. So IMO you are both leaving a lot of $$ on the table.

That is your prerogative.  I will stay with my TA and reap the benefits. I can’t afford to leave any $$$ on the table.

That's nice if you have a TA that does that . Not all TA's do give a discount of any amount. I'm lucky if a can find a TA that will give us a bottle of wine or a specialty restaurant for two.

My planner is Excellent!!!  She gets me discounts on most cruises that are better than promotions.  She always calls back or emails back.  Just yesterday I noticed a price drop after final...she called me back amd she got even more off. Refund to a tune of 835.00.  I track price drops and she always responds...Melissa is great
