i might be doing a back to back cruise, going solo.

NCL comes to Tampa at 8am on 11/24 (Thanksgiving Sunday :classic_ohmy: )

Celebrity leaves Miami at 4PM, but have to be on board by 3pm.

easiest/cheapest way from Tampa port to Miami port (280 miles)?

you have only two choices IMO

rent a car and drive .... which is 4 hours plus your pickup and drop off time ....

or see if there is a flight from Tampa to Miami .....

no other option I can think of will get you there fast enuf

maybe this ... http://www.floridashuttletransportation.com/destinations/miami/miami-to-tampa-shuttle-bus.html  but it is not 'door to door' and cost nearly $500 for one . . .

and yes, fog in the late winter early spring could mess you up BAD . . .

That's a grueling drive.

I drove from FLL to Tampa to open a restaurant for my company last year and it took me almost six hours.  I'd be to afraid something would happen.

I'd either pick a cruise out of Tampa or Port Canaveral.  Or pick a cruise out of Miami for the next day.

Avis, Hertz and Enterprise have offices near the port - walk off with your bags, hit the road, and you can be on your next ship in time for a late lunch.

Ditto. But may want to check what time the car rental places open. Usually airport locations have longer hours.

The drive isn't that bad, really. We have driven to Tampa just for the day before. Which is there AND back to do Busch gardens.

Have also done a day trip north of Tampa. Even towing my camper it wasn't 6 hours, lol.  It's about a 4 hour drive and all easy highway.   Very easy drive.
