Ship departure day questions

I want to do a tour in Honolulu (7am-3pm)before getting on the ship, but it says we can board at 12 noon. Ship doesn't leave until 6pm. Is showing up at 4pm a problem? or should I skip the tour so i can be at the ship sooner?

they usually have the muster drill about 4pm - they did on our Solstice cruise last year....

I prefer to be on the ship as early as possible to enjoy all the amenities (bars / OVC) on offer!

Depending on the tour, if you're late, they can deny booking. I wouldn't chance it.

After further inspection of our cruise documents it states "CHECK-IN BETWEEN: 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM" and ship Departs at 8pm.

 

It would not be a ship tour, it would be one on our own.

Call Celebrity & ask when is all aboard time!  ALL cruises have an all aboard time!

If it says check in between 12:00 -6:00 arriving at 4:00 would not be a problem at all.  Just make sure that you do not arrive any later than 6:00 or there would be an issue.  Enjoy your cruise

I read somewhere it said one need to be board at least 2 hours before departure. So you have until 6pm to get on the ship.

On departure day there is a true deadline to be onboard.  If you miss it....you do not sail.  Don't be late.

Well if it’s board by 6:00, 4:00 is no worry.

thank you! Ive never been to Honolulu, i assume if tour ends at 3 in Waikiki and we head to the ship shortly thereafter.  that leaves us at least 2.5 hours from Waikiki to cruise ship terminal in a cab? Even in bad traffic I'm hoping that will work out!

Actually, I have just heard about it. Our son is stationed on Oahu. Our other son lives in Maui (been there twice). This summer we are going to visit both (by air!) so we get to experience the Honolulu traffic nightmare first-hand finally!

Agreed, traffic can be a nightmare, especially at rush hour.

FYI: We just heard from our Oahu D-I-L that the Arizona memorial platform will remain closed thru the summer. Boats still go out to it and the visitors' center are still open. So, if your Honolulu tour includes Pearl Harbor, make sure you get to the parts that may be of particular interest.
