Symphony Jr Suite tub/shower combo

Recommended Posts

Does the tub/shower combo in the Junior Suites on Symphony have a very high side to step over? We were recently on Ncl Sun and the sides were dangerously high for us about 20" which was above my knee. We have been on Allure & Oasis & don't remember them being that high then again that was 6 years ago so maybe it didn't bother us as much then. Does anyone know the height or how I can find it out?

In a JS right now on Symphony... Here are some pictures that might help using the highly calibrated Cruise Compass as a measuring device.20190520_014857.thumb.jpg.b6ac674d93a7efd8afe8d86002bc2425.jpg

Soap is to help visualize the bottom of the tub.

Keep in mind a Compass is a standard 8.5 x 11 letter size sheet of paper or 17 x 11 in the fully opened format.

I learned in rehab after my hip replacement to sit on the edge of the tub and swing my legs over for both getting in and getting out. Have two stall showers at home and never use the tub but for cruises and hotels it works well (also a vertically challenged senior).

It IS to have access under the tub...once you're IN it, it's a normal-sized tub.  It's just it's raised off the bathroom floor level.  Sit on the side, swing your legs in, and stand....repeat to get out.

Thank you so much for the pictures they were very helpful. Is the Jr Suite as large as the pictures make it look on the RCCL site? Have  a great cruise!

I'd say so, definitely roomier than a balcony room.

They have Jr. Suites for disabled with no tubs, just a walk in shower. We had one recently on the Allure. The bathroom was quite large to accommodate a wheelchair. Neither my wife or I are disabled but booked it as a guaranteed suite. Luck of the draw. It was very nice.

I am assuming Symphony has the same thing. Wouldn't hurt to ask.
