What is the minimum attire on the Alaskan cruise Formal nights?

Also do they have a guest self-laundry onboard?

Yes to laundry. $3 wash, $3 dry, plus soap & dryer sheets. One on passenger decks 8 through 12. No laundry on decks 5 & 14.

Attire: This is a very touchy subject and your question will probably generate pages of opinions. The Princess policy does not change based on itinerary. Basically, you will be allowed to enter the DR as long as you have no shorts and a nice shirt or top. Many men will wear sports jackets or suits. Shorts will most likely be allowed on boarding day and maybe the last evening. It all depends on the maitre'd.

CJSKIDS/Carolyn - Now we have stickies for Medallion.  And the ancient smoking one still exists even though that policy changed before I had gray hair.  How about one for clothing and then we won't have a new thread every three days asking about it?  What do you think?

You can see the location of guest laundromats on every Princess ship by reviewing the deck plans on the Princess website.

Soap & fab. soft. ...$1.50 each. You purchase tokens in the laundry room or (if dispenser out/broken) buy tokens at Passenger Services.

Bring your own soap/fab. soft.

Laundry rooms are closed on some days on the Alaska itinerary.

Every deck has a self service laundry.

Minimal dress on formal nights for the guys is a pair of Dockers & either a dress shirt, Polo or guayabera shirt and for the women a pair of slacks with just about any dressy top will suffice.

Check the Princess website for the dress suggestions.

It is the same in Alaska as it is for all regions on Princess.

Just off Golden and I found people dressed more on this cruise than any other I have been on.  Even on non formal nights.  We only went to DR one night and was quite surprised.  However that does not mean you have to dress up as much as they did.

The Golden does not have laundries in passenger areas on decks 5 & 14.
