Virtual Balconey

Recommended Posts

I tried one on deck 12 on Anthem, loved it, and have booked it several times since.  I think the shape of the cabin makes a big difference.  The Anthem deck 12 insides which show as sideways cabins with the entry door in the middle look like the picture in the link posted by Merion Mom.  These cabins are square instead of rectangular because the bathroom is across one whole side (not protruding into the room)  and shares its wall with the bathroom of the adjoining cabin.  As you can see from the picture, the closet storage fills the wall surrounding the bed, so its intrusion into the room is minimal.  The TV, frig, additional drawers, and small desk are along the wall across from the foot of the bed.  The result of this layout is that there is plenty of floor space in the cabin and it just seems more spacious.  The only drawback is that there is a chair instead of a love seat or sofa.

We have been in a room on Anthem which had a VB and it was interesting.  I would, however, miss the actual ability to just open the door and walk out on the balcony.  But then I am one of those balcony people who would never have a room without one.

Agree, only cruise with a real balcony. They have a VB in the Diamond Lounge on Symphony, sat and looked at it every day for 2 weeks,  just not the same or even close.
