dlwolf72 Posted August 9, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2019 (edited) Will we find in Oasis Boardwalk Balcony Staterooms a “Cooler” or a “Mini-Fridge”? If a “Cooler” can a “Mini-Fridge” be requested and how big is one? ANYONE HAVE A MINI-FRIDGE PIC THEY WILL SHARE? stevea36 Posted August 9, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2019 All RCI ships have a "cooler". If you need a true fridge for medical reasons they will provide a free standing medical fridge in addition to the cooler. If you want it only to keep your beverages cold I would get a throw-away cooler and ask your room attendant to provide ice for it twice a day. Rare vacationlover_mn Posted August 9, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2019 Yeah- they might look like a fridge... but they don’t keep things very cold. I would never store milk or food in there...
SRF Posted August 9, 2019 #4 Share Posted August 9, 2019 It may depend on ship and class of cabin. In a GS on Grandeur, it cools quite well. But, based on experiences in hotels around the world, I prop open the door of the cubby. ANY refrigeration device is limited to a maximum temp differential. As the cubby gets very warm from the heat out of the unit, the temp IN the unit has to go up. Propping the door keeps the cubby cooler, allowing the unit to cool the inside more.
cruisegirl1 Posted August 9, 2019 #5 Share Posted August 9, 2019 We just came off the grander, in a standard balcony cabin, and had the coldest refrigerator that I’ve ever had on any cruise. I didn’t ask for anything special, just whatever appliance was in the room, and it appeared to be quite efficient. The refrigerator is placed in a cabinet that’s got some air vents, so perhaps that helps. m
maryjaden Posted August 9, 2019 #6 Share Posted August 9, 2019 They are definitely coolers. I leave the cabinet door open so that air circulates around them. This seems to help. I also will leave the ice bucket in the cooler.
Merion_Mom Posted August 9, 2019 #7 Share Posted August 9, 2019 My cabinet doesn't even have a door. And the fridge is nice and cold. 😄
Rare brillohead Posted August 10, 2019 #8 Share Posted August 10, 2019 I've always found my beverages refreshing when left in the fridge/cooler.
