cured Posted September 7, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2019 After reading more on this forum, I am beginning to be suspicious that on our recent Med sailing we were benefiting from the previous cabin occupant's status after a late RoyalUP bid and win. If true, a huge thanks to the previous occupants! So, who gets the VIP stickers?

"Our" table was always waiting for us in the MDR (MTD) no matter what time we showed up. Always ushered to the front of any line. Invite to the the party on the helipad, and many other things. This was our first RCI cruise, so were pre-gold so we shouldn't have had any perks at all. Trying to figure out if these were normal Sky class perks or we were mistaken for someone else. We originally thought, wow, that CL suite upgrade really was worth it. But after reading more on here after we got back, I am thinking, "yeah, no." Could be to distinguish you from the JS staterooms that also have the word "suite" on the SetSail pass.

cured Posted September 7, 2019 Author #15 Share Posted September 7, 2019 (edited) Exactly 🙂 I tried searching google and this forum and it seems there is a VIP program, often added by corporate, but I don't know if this sticker was indicative of that. If it was this, we definitely were benefiting from the previous occupants of our cabin. The only perks I can find of the VIP program is the beverage package. Which would explain the strange comment by our absolutely wonderful cabin steward who bent over backwards for our few questions. When I asked her how to get our cups for the beverage package, explaining we all had the package, she looked at us like we were crazy and said "Didn't anyone tell you, you didn't need to buy the beverage package." I was confused because I thought only Star class got the beverage package included. But being newbies..... We booked the same cabin for next summer and I am trying to figure out what we should have had and what we shouldn't have had and what I do really need to purchase. For example: what our cabins look like, where I work, what we eat, what the crew bar looks like, what I do in my free time. In this first vlog, I show you the sign-on process. Me, walking on to the ship as a new crew member - followed by a ship tour. https://youtu.be/TwY2wMDjpBk I'm actually about to start my next contract onboard Mariner Of The Seas for 7 months, starting my new role as a Casino Host. cured Posted September 7, 2019 Author #20 Share Posted September 7, 2019 (edited) This one is my daughter's. Just noticed hers had additional "Show Pass" on it. Ours were just plain VIP. Card is more orange in real life. Edited September 7, 2019 by cured
cured Posted September 7, 2019 Author #21 Share Posted September 7, 2019 (edited) oops, sorry those were so big. After further research, the sticker may be as simple as an indication of having The Key. We had the key but then canceled it when we got the upgrade because most of the Key perks were also included with the suite. Since it was such a late upgrade, they must not have removed it from our account. Edited September 7, 2019 by cured

Never stepped foot in the casino so have no idea if ours would have worked. I do know that at the MDR, they would see our orange card with the yellow sticker, pull us out of line, the guy would grab someone and say "VIP guests" and would escort us to the back podium where we would be immediately seated at the same table (377) in a small section surrounded by a half wall where we saw the same people every night. Even when the lines snaked out past the elevators, we never waited more than a couple of minutes to be seated. I have been wondering if this was a normal Sky class benefit. barb in ga Posted September 8, 2019 #25 Share Posted September 8, 2019 I don't know about the VIP sticker, but the orange Seapass card may indicate that you boarded in Civitavecchia on your Med cruise, not Barcelona. We sailed Symphony last September, and I just checked my Seapass--it's orange. Barb
