Also the itinararies meet the local needs which sees rather short cruises with mainly sea days in order to maximize the time for shopping and Casino. It's not worth it for a European or North American to travel half around the globe for that. If you want to cruise in Asia and experience port intensive families you will need to choose Celebrity (If you want to stay eithin the family 😉 ) Same as with Spectrum the ship was designed to meet the needs for the Chinese market. The outdoor spaces see to be getting reduced, Deck 15 seems to be hacing a large indoor area and the open deck pool area i smaller with a fully closed solarium. The Suite area which will be a seperate enclosed area, probably as on Quantum Ultra accessible through seperate elevators will be fully seperated and the Deck 16 /17 area seeems to be wider taking up more area towards the front of the ship / more suites. Possibly there will be now suites facing the front o the ship to comensate the new space found now towards the back. The ship still has a lot of open space, hence if it will be year round based in Shanghai is questionable, I will not be suprised to have she ship based in Singapore to replace Quantum. I have a feeling that we will see Quantum at least seasonably to be moved to Australia to either replace Voyager or be brought as a additional ship. I think you missed one. Using Item 5 as point of reference. There seems to be an extra deck wrapped around the funnel, above the existing suite deck on existing Oasis class ships. Perhaps to replace the missing suites

LXA350 Posted October 20, 2019 #107 Share Posted October 20, 2019 I doubt we will ever see a Oasis Class ship in Sydney, at least for sure not until a new Terminal will be constructed outside of the City and further ports will be able to handle it. The first Oasis Class ship to be seen in Australia will be based out of Brisbane for cruises to the South Pacific and this will not happen before the new private Island of RCCL will be ready around 2022.

I'd say the Sydney Port Authority's listing of an unnamed ship is likely to be the Wonder OTS. Possibly just sailings out into the ocean and back, plus some to the islands (their new private island?) all during the summer cruise season. colourbird Posted October 21, 2019 #112 Share Posted October 21, 2019 Just now, Biker19 said: Unlikely an O class ship would do anything but 7 day cruises. Aussies generally don't like short cruises, except for the party ships. many prefer longer holidays, so 10 days to the islands and back or 12 to 14 days around New Zealand are the norm. Rare Ethanol95 Posted October 21, 2019 #113 Share Posted October 21, 2019 (edited) It doesn't look like an O class by the port listings. The unamed vessel has quite a few 3 night and a mix of 8, 9, 10, 11 night itineraries. Sounds pretty similar to Ovation's itineraries. The 3 night itineraries would seem rather odd if their goal for an O class ship was to bring it to Perfect day Lelepa. Doubt 5000 passengers want to go on an Oasis class for 3 nights to end up going nowhere. But it's also interesting to note that sister ships Ovation AND Voyager are also home-ported in Sydney. Leads me to think perhaps, it could be a Radiance Class ship rather than an Oasis class one. Also Perfect day at lelepa is only opening in Q2 of 2022. You may be right there, but it is unusual for the Port Authority to list an unnamed ship. There is usually a placeholder listed, I think it was Explorer or Voyager for the Ovation before her Aussie deployment was announced. In the 2021-2022 season, Serenade is no longer listed, so maybe another in her class which would be a disappointment for some people I know who sail on RCI a lot from Sydney and would love something different. Attached is RCIs full summer season out of Sydney.

Unless RCI deploys another quantum/quantum plus class (more so the latter) to Sydney which would be interesting.

Rare Ethanol95 Posted October 24, 2019 #122 Share Posted October 24, 2019 Okay, i take that back, because I can't find a source for it. But, I still have a hunch for it. On the 2021-2022 Deployment thread, some were talking about Serenade appearing in August timeframe, and that repositioning would have been via Pacific Ocean. mattymay Posted October 27, 2019 #123 Share Posted October 27, 2019 (edited) It's Quantum.. Wonder of the Seas will be replacing it in China. Quantum is also showing up on some port schedules in New Zealand around the same time. No need to hide the name of a ship that's already been here. Eg. Serenade.
