Thank you CC community members for letting everyone know about these Tahiti itineraries on the Pacific Princess!

We've booked the December 20th Xmas cruise.  We have a booking for the December 21, 2020, Pacific Princess roundtrip New Zealand itinerary out of Sydney.  I don't feel very hopeful about that one.  😥  If and when the 2020 NZ Xmas cruise is cancelled, we'll move the FCC, additional deposit and any extra $$$ from Princess to the 2021 Tahiti Xmas cruise.

Azbirdmom, we also do not see the $150 OBC offer.   Our TA is checking on it.   We also do not see the usual military OBC credits that my husband gets - not sure if a glitch in their system or what but hopefully we can work it out before we sail and we have lot and lots of time for that.

Jill if you want to e-mail me I will shoot you the e-mail we received from Princess. Expand my signature and you will see my e-mail  Noreen

Noreen, thanks but I did get the email - but when I look at my booking no OBC for $150 is shown.   I wonder if it is because I booked with a TA.   I just talked to her and she is going to look into it.   She said she did it for another client and all was well so hopefully that will be the case here too.   Now have to search for the new roll call - may have to use your link because when I look at Pacific Princess roll calls they do not show any for 2022.   Then again I am having trouble with cruisecritic today so might just be my computer.   At any rate off to do this now.   Will see you on new board.

Does anyone know if adjoining balconies on Deck seven can be connected on Pacific Princess? On some Princess ships a door between adjoining balconies can be opened allowing people to move back and forth. Just wondering if we can connect our three balcony cabins pb our Tahiti Cruise

Our TA did get it added today and it appears on the Cruise Personalizer now so I am happy.  Not sure why it didn't show up automatically, maybe because we had a casino discount?  In any event your TA should easily be able to get it for you.

Jill, when I booked earlier this week, the military credit did not show up.  However, the Princess person with whom I spoke had it quickly put on. Apparently a glitch in the system, but your hubby should get his credit.  Just ask.

JerryinBWB, thanks for information on military credit - mentioned it to my TA who called Princess and we now have it.

Birdmom, thanks for information on Tahiti rebooking OBC - have that too.  Sorry about your name - I am having trouble with cruisecritic last few days - it only lets me type certain things and some words it will not accept.   I cannot figure it out but ticking me off.  It will not let me type your "state name" in front of your screen name.  Yesterday I could not use personalizer.   I hope this does not continue.

Well it's good that you got the OBC!  Not good that you are having trouble with your device though.  Things are tough enough now without having annoying things like that happening too.  At least we have a wonderful cruise to look forward to in the future, with some unexpected spending money to add to the enjoyment!  Good luck to you.

Have you tried using @ before you put in the name.

Example: @azbirdmom

When I typed part of the name the rest (along with others that are similar) pops up in a list. Choose the name you want. It's a handy feature. It also notifies birdmom that you posted about/to her.

We had been booked on back to backs to Tahiti this September / October.  We were to board in Honolulu and then do the following 10 days circle in the South Pacific.  So much looking forward to it.

Unfortunately, we didn't favor the idea of doing back to back identical 10 days, and thought it too far to go for a single 10 day cruise so, as happy as we were to see Princess send the Pacific back to Tahiti next year, the new deployments just didn't suit us.

Instead, on Friday we booked an 18 day partial transpacific from PPT to LAX with Oceana for spring '22.  It's still and R ship and frankly is costing very nearly the same money we had committed for CC on Pacific in a similar PH cabin on Regatta.  It's been a long while since we strayed from Princess but this itinerary just suits us better.

I'll report back, in two years time, on our impressions of Oceana.  To those who have booked these sailings, enjoy, and look forward to seeing you on another Princess voyage sometime in '21.

I know that the Emerald has done this itinerary.  Our version was in the fall.  Prior to shutting down, Bora Bora were implementing restrictions concerning the number of passengers allowed to visit on any given day.  They want smaller ships as the islands cannot support large numbers of passengers on a single day.  Perhaps they will rethink their plan given the long shutdown.
I would guess the bigger ships like the Royal class would be more apt to visit on a Transpacific cruise.
The Pacific Princess is an ideal size for that area.

Yes. It is one of the "R" ships. They were built for and served that area before being sold to other lines.

Our first trip around the FP was with the Renaissance Cruise line.  R3 or R4.

Pacific Princess was the R3 and the Tahitian/Ocean Princess was the R4. The second Royal Princess, which didn't have mini suites, was the R8. We have sailed on all 3 as well as the R1 when it was still owned by Renaissance.

We also have been on all three with Princess. Perfect ships for many, many ports that today's behemoths cannot go to.
