Harmony solo cabins questions

Just booked a solo ocean view cabin for next September. I was just noticing some concerns about the location of these rooms. If any one has stayed in one maybe they can help out.
First, they are on deck four under the running track on deck five. They do seem to be inset a little but I was wondering if purchase anyone has stayed in one of these rooms and noticed much noise from the joggers early in the morning? I get up early but like my peace and quiet.
Second, they are just outside the casino. I know it’ll smell smoky in the hall but I would hope it wouldn’t so much in the room.
I can live with both but need to know how bad (or not) to expect it to be. Obviously as a solo traveler in a tiny cabin, I won’t actually be in the room very much.

I have the same questions. I'm booked B2B in a solo cabin on Harmony next summer. I HATE the smell of cigarette smoke. If the cabin even smells faintly of smoke, I will be extremely upset and probably will raise a ruckus at Guest Services. I am normally a very chill person/traveler, and I go with the flow and never complain. But I will not tolerate having that awful smell in my hotel rooms or cabins. I dealt with that for 18 years when I was growing up, so I'm not about to deal with it in my adult life. I'm actually semi-regretting booking this cruise because I'm so worried about the smell. I would love to hear from others who have sailed in the Harmony solo cabins.

Was just in one of the solo rooms on the Harmony Nov 17.  My friend was in the room next door.  Neither of us were bothered by any noise nor smoke.  We were both happy with the size and layout of the room and would book again.

I was in a solo cabin on Harmony in October and agree on the noise and smoke.  The starboard bank of elevators is between the casino and the entrance to the solo cabin hallway so not really close enough for smoke to be an issue.

The cabin size was a little "intimate" for me but I got the room on a low-ball Royal Up bid from an inside room so it didn't bother me that much.

Was on the Harmony a few months and did not have a problem with smoke or noise, the cabin was adequate and had a large porthole.  However, would not book one of these cabins gain,  way to small, I had to go outside to change my mind.

Than you! I know it’s small but enough savings for me to get the drink package and my excursions and still have spare change left over. And otherwise I’d spend too much time in the room as opposed to exploring the ship and that’s why I booked Harmony!

Thank you for posting this question.  I  am booked into an ocean view solo cabin in June and was extremely concerned about smoke infiltration into my cabin.I am delighted to read the responses to your questions addressing this issue.

Within my budget, the solo cabin size is trade I can live with and have more chips at the gaming tables.

I am on deck 4 and wonder if the window will be obstructed by the life boats.  Do you know what the situation might be?

Thanks.

Is the price really a significant chunk of change? For me personally, I would rather get double points in a regular interior.

When I booked, an interior was nearly double the price of the solo cabin. A balcony was more than double. I seriously debated booking the balcony, but then I figured that I could have two weeks in the solo for less than one week in a balcony. I have the summer off, so doing the B2B rather than having more space was a better trade off for me.

Dag!  According to the website, those are even smaller than the interiors on the Empress.  And the bathroom is probably larger, so that would make the cabin part even smaller.

😲

I'd be curious to see a floorplan of these (couldn't find one on the site).  I've stayed in a Studio on Anthem and one on Norwegian's Bliss, both were about the same size as each other (100 sq. ft) but I thought the layout on Bliss was better because there wasn't an entire area walled off for the bathroom.

I saw a couple videos but it was hard to get a good feel for the room, I'd like to compare overhead (or maybe I just need to find a trip to take).

I enjoyed the fact that, although the studio balcony cabin was small, the bathroom was full-sized.

On the Norwegian ship I liked that there was extra space in the room.  I don't need a full private bathroom in a cabin for 1 person.  However, the sink was quite small.

Too bad those studio balcony cabins on Royal are so expensive and sell out so fast, I'd book one otherwise.  The Studio inside on Anthem wasn't bad but it did seem cramped in comparison.

For my sailing the solo with gratuities prepaid is $1286. Interior without gratuities with the 200% single charge was $2116. The solo cabin is a refundable deposit unti PIF date, so I might change IF the another rate comes closer but I do like natural light and unless the sailing needs to fill regular OV or Balconies I’ll likely stay in my solo room. Double points are nice but I really don’t sail often enough to worry about extra benefits.

All the solo cabins are on deck 4 in one location. The lifeboats are on the deck above so the boats themselves are not an obstruction, but some of the roping does seem to hang down around some of the windows in the few pictures I’ve seen of the ocean view rooms.

I'm confused, because on the cruise I'm considering (Mediterranean 2021 on Harmony) the studio ocean view is $100 more than a "regular" ocean view room for one person. Does that sound right?

I just looked at a couple of 7 day Med May '21 sailings and am seeing something similar, Studio (~$3K) is listed as about $75-$85 higher than the regular OV.  Doesn't make sense.

Looking at a 7 day Caribbean March '21 sailing, Studio ($1262) is $900 lower than OV.

It doesn't make sense, but it frequently seems to be the case.  Plus, the solo guest in the regular stateroom will get an extra C&A point per night.

Supply and demand, particularly the limited supply of solo cabins, sometimes drives the price higher than a regular oceanview at 200%.

I see that on Norwegian.  I booked a balcony with an additional perk and reduced airfare (which changed it to full solo supplement) for only $60 more than a studio on the same trip, when airfare was added to the studio estimate. Made it a no-brainer to book the balcony.  That ship has 86 studio cabins too, not like the 2 dozen or so Royal has..

I will be in a studio ocean view in  2 weeks.  I am by myself in the cabin and plan on taking quite a few photos.  I also had a hard time finding any photos or images, so hopefully I can get some shots that will help others.  i am a little concerned about the size- have been in Jr Suites the past 5-6 cruises, so I have gotten used to all that space!  But- this cabin was comped thru the casino, so can't complain if it doesn't cost anything!  look for photos after i get back on Fe b9th!
