Free lunch for Haven guests on first day

When I have cruised in the past in the Haven, we were offered lunch at no charge in the Margaritaville Restaurant on the first day.  We will be sailing on the Epic in March and was wondering if they have any offering like this one.  I know they don't have a Margaritaville.

Even Haven's with Haven restaurants offer a no cost alternative specialty lunch on embarkation day.  We have seen this sailing our of NY.  When it was too cold for Margaritaville, they offered La Cuchina instead.  I don't know for certain if Epic offers this, but I did want to let you know that having a Haven restaurant does not negate the alternative lunch offering on other ships.

The Epic Haven restaurant is generally big enough to accommodate a good portion of the embarkation day crowd. They don’t usually offer an alternative. On the Breakaway this past December, they didn’t announce Margaritaville as an alternative, but I asked and they escorted us right over.

I was on the Bliss, leaving from NY in December, and our Haven lunch was at the Food Republic. When we arrived on embarkation day, we were directed to the Haven lounge before boarding the ship. Before the boarding began, the head concierge spoke to us and gave general info (like where our complimentary lunch would be, when our luggage would arrive, etc.)

Margaritaville or American Dinner is offered on some of the -away class ship as additional dining in addition to Haven Restaurant.

The Epic does not have any alternate restaurant. The Epic restaurant is the largest in the fleet and includes a large outdoor dining area with a separate menu.

How did it work at Food Republic? Could you get whatever you want, or was it 4 items?

There was a shortened menu to choose from - but I can’t remember how many choices we had. It was very crowded, but the service was good. Unfortunately, this wouldn’t have been my choice for a specialty lunch - I was looking forward to having lunch at Margaritaville...

I've read before that on Bliss they were offering (in addition to lunch at Margaritaville) 50% Food Republic on the first night of the cruise. Do they still offer this?  Offer it on the Encore?

I don’t have an answer for yo, but noticed you’re celebrating your 50th soon. Me too! My big Five O is in June! Happy early half century David!
