They have people that occasionally watch the show to monitor character"s performances, and if it begins to vary from the way its supposed to be they will practice again to touch it up. The ensembles (be it band, orchestra, or vocal) also refer to the times spent together as practices when new pieces are being learned or passages being "practiced" as a group to perfect timing, volume,etc. Rehearsals are when the whole planned program is run through as it would be performed.
