Tried calling today for a price adjustment and was told only those who booked early saver could get one after final payment.  I booked with a casino rate and was transferred directly to them and was told no go.  Was worth a shot!

That could be a decrease in expected port fees

True. This would be for 2 cabins tho. I would think they would do separate transactions since we have 2 booking numbers.

Wait... If you book an early saver rate, it's eligible for price adjustments after final payment due date? Does it go back your original form of payment or do you get it in OBC?

Yes you can get price adjustments up until 2 business days before your sail date.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing this. I just got off the phone with Carnival. I am booked on the Miracle for May 1st and didn't think I could do anything about the price drops after my final payment date. By calling, I got a $328 OBC!!!

what rate did you book?

I believe it was the Dealer's choice. And NOW I get another $200 OBC with Carnival's Coronavirus response released today. So, I am wondering can I use my OBC to book another cruise?

Just got an additional OBC of $259 for balcony cabin on the 4/25 cruise on the Vista.   Got a response within about 30 minutes.  YAY!

And based on the release about the new short term cancellation policy, you'll be getting another $200 OBC if you do not cancel.

No.  OBC is use it or lose it for on board spending only.

Yeah...that's my point. I keep getting told different or wrong info when I call. I just wish they could all be on the same page. If I listened to the first person I talked to I would have never gotten $285 off of my cruise

Yeah, Carnival is pretty inconsistent with their policies.

Been eyeing the April 12th Horizon cruise out of Miami for a while. Price for the 4 of us is now about $1400 inclusive in a Balcony cabin. Is there any reason why I shouldn't jump on this? Seems like an unreal price...

That is a really nice price. Our family of 4 cruising out of California with a balcony is $2,400. And that's after a few price reductions.

Can you use that OBC towards Cheers?

Yes, if you wait until you are on board to purchase it.  In that case you can't take advantage of the discount that you get for purchasing it prior to your cruise.

You can also use it to pay for drinks on board if you don't have Cheers.

What is DSC?

The short answer is it will be applied as a credit on your S&S account.  It will go toward whatever on-board charges you incur.

As the name indicates it is on board credit so it can't be used for anything you pay for prior to embarking.

Just booked Horizon for 3/29 6 day sailing.  Booked "balcony guarantee" and assigned Havana Aft Wrap for $855 inclusive.  It was a deal I could not pass up.  I'll bring some Clorox.
