treehugr Posted March 13, 2020 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2020 Just seen this on X website. 125% FCC will be processed automatically. If you want a full refund one needs to call. https://www.celebritycruises.com/travel-alert/voluntary-suspension-of-cruising
niklah Posted March 14, 2020 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2020 I assume if you used a TA, you should call them directly?

That's what I'm doing since the TA owns our bookings. Currently on hold with the TA and the airlines. Edited March 14, 2020 by davekathy

hiccups Posted March 14, 2020 #5 Share Posted March 14, 2020 In my email from Celebrity, there is a link where you can request a refund instead of the FCC. Also, it says we can request a refund up until the expiration date of the FCC.
helen haywood Posted March 14, 2020 #6 Share Posted March 14, 2020 Yes, I thought I’d try the link myself tomorrow.
thon Posted March 14, 2020 #7 Share Posted March 14, 2020 I just followed the link, filled in all the required info for a 100% refund and they said it would be processed to my payment record on file within 30 days. Hopefully before 30 days, but was an easy process.

bye-seaya Posted March 14, 2020 #11 Share Posted March 14, 2020 I received an email but clicked on the link and said the time has expired to respond. Really?! 10 minutes after receiving? Ridiculous.
helen haywood Posted March 14, 2020 #12 Share Posted March 14, 2020 No, not the link at the top. The link imbedded in the letter.

davekathy Posted March 14, 2020 #15 Share Posted March 14, 2020 If you take the FCC do you have to cruise by 31 December 2021 or just book another cruise by 31 December 2021 and cruise sometime in 2020?

Rare ladylemondrop Posted March 14, 2020 #19 Share Posted March 14, 2020 Our travel agent has not even been informed yet that our cruise is cancelled, despite it showing on the list of cancelled sailings on celebrity website. They have to wait until they are informed officially before they can do anything for us.

helen haywood Posted March 14, 2020 #23 Share Posted March 14, 2020 I booked with a TA in the USA but used the link in the letter to request a refund. It went through fine. Of course, the proof will be when I actually DO see the refund ("up to 30 days.") The form has you check a box if you are a TA canceling for a client or yourself and has you fill out your contact information. So no need to call X and no need to call your TA.
mafig Posted March 14, 2020 #24 Share Posted March 14, 2020 Helen, Did you get a confirmation email? I didn't.
helen haywood Posted March 14, 2020 #25 Share Posted March 14, 2020 No I didn't. Didn't really expect to get one right away. I made a note of the date and time I did it and I'll watch and see what happens. I'm sure they're swamped.....and IT was never X's strong suit in the best of times....
