Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Fabulous!    Welcome Home and happy to hear you had great weather except for the 1st and last day (which is pretty normal for sailings this time of year out of Bayonne).

On our 2nd week there was 6 ships in Nassau and you are right that is far too many people for such a small area.

And I agree you with about the Oasis Pool at CocoCay, I wanted to relax and enjoy the pool but it was far too crowded and noisy so we moved around from South Beach and Chill Beach and floated on our noodles at the lagoon for quite awhile.

Most important question:    Did you meet up with Rajesh at Casino Bar for the "Debra Special Mojito"?

We did not go to Jamies on our last sailing but when we do we try to pick a nice warm day to eat outside too.    I enjoy the outdoor patio behind WJ when I eat there.

I never made it to the casino. Andy went and made a donation one night after I’d fallen asleep.

We found our bartending crew at Boleros. After a couple of wimpy mojitos, I asked them to make me a tall one with lots of ice. They were perfection after that! We also enjoyed hearing about their lives in Bali and Argentina.
We also had lunch in the outdoor WJ area a couple of times. It seems like not many are aware it’s there, which is fine by me!

That does look like a perfect mojito!   I hate when they give a mojito in small glass.

That is one thing I love about cruising, meeting people from all over the world and hearing about their lives and families is so intriguing

Yes, I'm glad that very few know about back patio too!   Our last sea day back to bayonne was the usual chilly and windy day but I discovered that back patio was the perfect spot with no wind.   I sat there with my legs up on a chair sunning and reading as our balcony was too chilly.    A couple other people joined to do the same.

We found that we loved the port side cabin on this particular cruise. We got sunrises on the way south and sunsets in the way back north.  Plus a nice, warm, sunny balcony in the afternoon on our last sea day home, even though it was chilly & breezy in the upper outside decks. I plan to keep this in mind for any future similar sailings.

I will remember that.   Our last 2 Anthem cruises were starboard.  We are booked for port side on Oasis.

I was not going to post this 2 weeks ago when my 15 year old niece in Israel had a spinal stroke .   BUT now I can mention it because Hila (pronounced Heela) has movement in her legs and arms.  She can now finally stay sitting up with help and the therapists are working with her to get her to slowly walk.

This is a very rare stroke for a 15 year old.

How frightening that this happened to sweet Hila.  I will pray for her complete recovery, Bonnie.🙏  How thankful her parents and grandparents must feel about the doctors optimism at this time.

Kenzie’s mom (my daughter) texted her yesterday and she said she is in pain and may need to have the other lung drained.  The aunt’s mom said she is improving and getting more sleep.  Thanks for asking.  It"s amazing when you think that for the most part the people who post here have not met in person but we care for one another.

I'm glad to hear that she is improving, but hope that her pain will quickly subside.🙏

I did not ask what they gave me, but I woke up while still in the OR.

Good news about your clean bill of health, Debbie!  I'm guessing you were just as surprised as the Dr and nurses were when you woke up during the procedure🤔

Regarding different types of anesthesia.

the people that work in those think tanks came up with a monitoring device that monitors the depth of sleep.  The BIS monitor.

Its values are just like taking a test.

100% you are fully awake.Just like taking a test and scoring high.

75%, almost asleep

60% and below, your asleep, no memory, no recall.

Very interesting, Sue!  Thank you for taking the time to share this.

Turn the volume up. One of the things I love most about cruising. (Sorry for my foot & wineglass I’m the video)

Thanks for posting.  Great pics.  I agree, the Glory pic is nice. And being a Dadof3gurlz who girls love doing their nails, good job!

When’s your Oasis sailing?  We realized we’re only 13 nights away from Diamond.  I’ve convinced Andy of the “value” of reaching Diamond (primarily the drink coupons).  Now I’m working on the concept that it will take two separate 7 night cruises and all the accompanying costs OR we could do one 7

nighter in a suite to get double points.  It’s a work in progress lol.

We also enjoyed the outdoor Windjammer eating area on Anthem.

At Nassau, we went to the Margaritaville Resort. Had pre-purchased a day pass. Really nice place .... pool, beach, lazy river, etc. About $60 per person. Food / drink extra.  Walking distance from port.

I’ll keep that in mind, thanks!

We walked in and checked out the resort.   Does look like a really nice option for day pass and just may have to do it next time in Nassau.

Since I have the drink package and can therefore drink for free I see no reason to get off the ship in Nassau 😁

Eric probably thinks I need hearing aids since I don't always listen to him🤣

Eric is doing much much better than a week ago.    He almost back to "normal" if he ever was😇

LOL Debbie!

Since I left on my cruise, there's been 35 pages on our thread, so I've missed quite a bit.  Is Eric okay?

Did you develop tinnitus?   Another plus to wearing them is that the different noise I hear helps cover the tinnitus.  Even after wearing aides for several years I am hearing sounds right now that I normally don't notice.

I'm part of the tinnitus club here...

Understand. We have drink vouchers in our case, but still prefer getting off the ship and checking out new things. Different strokes for different folks. 😉

@Sunshine3601 and @Ocean Boy while converting @Momof3gurlzvideo I learned something nice. I did not use the online converter that I have been using.  It was all done on the phone!  While at the original post I tapped on the video file area and it download to the gallery. I tried to use the online converter but the file was to big.  So I decided to downsize the video with the editor in Gallery.  The same editor we use for pics.  When I downsized it I noticed it was saved as an mp4. After discovering this I went back to the original.mov, cropped just a little off the top and saved.  It also saved as an mp4.  My conclusion is any edited video on our Samsung phones will save as an mp4.  Try it sometime.

I tend to book starboard side on O class ships because they typically dock on their starboard side and I like to watch the activity on the pier.
