Thanks for the heads up. I just called Princess about this offer for a 2022 cruise already booked and the woman I spoke with indicated B4 (premium balcony on Crown) was not eligible. I thought perhaps I could book a lower level (whatever is under) and keep my room with lower price but she said not possible. She seemed a little confused with my inquiry and uncertain of her answer but is she correct? We are new to Princess
Thx
Diane

Yes, according to the terms, certain cabins are excluded, including premium categories. (bold and underlined for emphasis)

***Upgrade applies to booking the stateroom location you wish to sail in for the price of the lowest category within that stateroom type during this promotion only. Offer is based on availability in like to like stateroom types (Interior to Interior, Oceanview to Oceanview, Balcony to Balcony, Mini-Suite to Mini-Suite). Upgrade offer excludes select categories, including but not limited to premium categories and suites. Offer does not apply to land portion of cruisetours. Offer is combinable with Princess Plus and Princess Savers. Offer is not transferable, not substitutable and not redeemable for cash. Offer may be changed or revoked at any time.

Yes!  I actually saved money on our 2022 Tahiti cruise by refaring under this sale today.  We booked category MC and saved roughly $250 net per person when I factored in the different promos.  By the way, past sales with in-category upgrades used to show the same prices for all categories when you are selecting a cabin from the deck map.  This time the sale prices don't appear until you actually select a cabin.  I did a mock booking and learned this - at first I didn't think it was worth a call to our TA as I didn't see a change at first.  Now I just hope that I can count on that cruise actually sailing...

Got it, thanks. When I looked at ship map for OV the Mid Fore was more expensive than Fore, however when I clicked on a specific Mid Fore cabin the price went down to the Fore price.

We're booked on Sapphire Princess for a 10 day Alaska cruise September 2021. We used the pics from Renmar to book an "obstructed view" cabin that has zero obstruction. I sent my TA a note asking if we could re-fare to the cost of the cheapest obstructed view. Less than an hour later I got a new booking (same cabin and perks) at $90 per person less than we had booked originally. Love it. $180 isn't huge money but I'd much rather keep it than give it away to Princess!

Don't know why but when I try to respond my prior response pops up and I cannot delete it.

Please provide a link to Renmar site.

Thanks @Steelers36. Priced it out and I'd save $50 pp but I'd have to give up 30 OBC pp + Specialty Dinner.  And I couldn't cover that with FCC. Probably not worth it 😕

I am getting ~$146 in net-net savings for two of us (almost $277 if also factor in paying for an "IF" instead of our "IB"), but of course all depends on one's original booking timing and promo versus today.  Worth it to me.  Awaiting final pricing from our TA.  Their booking engine was pulling in our FCC's and messing with the bottom line.

This is the first time since last re-fare of booking in OCT 2019 that the net-net number has been lower than our original booking.  It was done under 3FF, plus a Specialty Dining bonus.  (I had exact same price back on 7/20).

By "net-net", I mean Princess invoice cost (with TA discount), and plus/minus all OBC's, Grat's.

Other changes with present situation is that agency discount percentage has been lowered due to COVID situation and there is now a $20 booking fee per reservation.  I believe these are temporary measures and not begrudging them.  I have not yet "shopped around" to see if other agencies have altered their discount rate.  Mine was the largest of any I have ever heard of, but the new rate is in the range of what selected competitors used to offer.  Not looking to change, but am curious about the rest of the market.  My net-net savings above take this into account - we still save even with re-faring using a lower discount and paying the booking admin fee.

In addition to Princess Saver or Princess Plus, we can get the free cabin upgrade which was 1/3 of the former 3FF promotion that always came around this time of year.

Thanks for posting this.  I contacted my TA since I'm booked in the highest category in the super category and the price was brought down to the lowest priced category.  This saved me some money ... not a ton, but every bit helps!!

Just an FYI, the online cruise agency that usually has their 3 day Princess sale in June, will be having it this year beginning on September 24th. I’ve only seen a preview of the offers.

If past promo is the guide, sale is for Balcony and above only.

Thanks for posting. I checked our 2022 Tahiti cruise, and we are still better off as originally booked, but your post spurred me on to do the checking. We are in the first cabin in the lowest mini-suite category, and I could move one cabin forward at the same price, but I don't think it's worth the hassle. Besides, I'd rather be under what we are under.

I'm sure I'll check a dozen or more times between now and final payment... I always do. Thanks!

Please provide a link to Renmar site

Renmar's dedicated site is no longer available. However, he transferred his photos to cruisedeckplans.com

You can access them as part of the public site by selecting Princess, selecting a ship, and then clicking on the )bst-View link as shown below.

Alternately, you can find them a a "group" of pics on that site using this link:

You're doing your calculations the same way I do.  I keep a spreadsheet where I can plug in all of the various discounts (casino, TA) and factor in all perks and add-ons.  We lost the specialty dining that my TA had added after we booked but gained savings in the fare, change in PVP, and got some additional OBC because our TA now has group space on our cruise (we booked on the first Elite booking day so we didn't have many perks).  Surprisingly the $150 OBC incentive that Princess had given us this summer for rebooking a cancelled Tahiti cruise stuck, otherwise our net savings would have been only $100.

Our TA is still giving the same generous discount for now so there are still some out there doing that.  I understand if some can't - it's been a very tough year for them.

I was booked Aug 2021 on the Grand in a 03 Premium Ocean view which was switched to Regal BE balcony since Regal does not have ocean view cabins, with no price change.  We have Princess Plus + specialty dining.

Presently BE is over $600 more than what we paid for the 03.

Would we be able to get the Upgrade Sale?

I didn’t read the offers closely but there seemed to be quite a bit of OBC.  Our TA, who works for that agency said she would send me more info.

Looks to me like the agency that has the 3 day sale,  are making you get the Princess plus, which already has the free gratitudes, free WiFi, & the drink package .  Maybe that’s why they are giving a large OBC added. One year when I called about their offer, I realized they were charging the same price as Princess & not any discount.  I would rather have the discount, not OBC. Also not sure if they win honor their sale with having  a Princess Casino discount.    In order to find the sale on google you must say the name of the company & Princess 3 day sale.  That’s how I found it.
