ranchette Posted September 4, 2020 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2020 Are there any benefits in booking a cruise on board and if so what are they? Do you get a better price for the cabin?

Do you get a better price for the cabin? I always check the prices for a booked cruise when we are onboard and never have they been better priced. Hard to beat a good TA and the perks they offer. Annicruise2014 Posted September 4, 2020 #3 Share Posted September 4, 2020 I think it depends on what sale is going on at the time. I don't remember if it was cheaper when I did that. We did get cruise credit which I used to pay for our excursions so it was like getting them for free. I think we got $200. Also someone was there to offer suggestions on cabin placement, better balconies, answer questions. I had a good experience and will do that always if I am able. I also was able to book a cruise for my daughter and she got credit also.
njkruzer Posted September 4, 2020 #4 Share Posted September 4, 2020 The deposit is usually only $200 for a balcony cabin. You can transfer it to a ta within 60 days if before final payment. Also they can immediately assign it to the ta who booked the cruise you are currently on.
firefly333 Posted September 4, 2020 #5 Share Posted September 4, 2020 On another thread this was discussed and depending on current sale, refundable deposit or not, solo or not, sometimes there is no benefit to booking onboard.
karena1 Posted September 5, 2020 #6 Share Posted September 5, 2020 We always book our 7 night cruises while on the ship to get the $100 OBC and lower deposit. Short cruises I book from home. I am a TA so perks from other TA's don't matter to me

I like to see if the TA can sweeten the deal once we return home.
