Besides the TA, all the itineraries are so blah. Same old destinations over and over again. I was excited about Mardi Gras until I saw her itineraries. Then I was excited about Celebration until I saw her itineraries. 😤

I guess it shouldn’t surprise me. These ships are built to be THE destination.

I agree

Wow, even I was underwhelmed at the ports/itineraries once it gets to Miami.

It seems to me that both Mardi Gras and "Carnival Celebration" are being range/speed limited for the first round of bookings - I suppose Carnival wants to make sure it can get to where it needs in time.

It can't be the size of the ships - RC sails to other destinations with their mega-ships, don't they?

both the Mardi Gras and the Celebration is LNG power ships so range could be a issue . I think in the second or third round of bookings carnival will have a better idea on the the performance of these ships and longer itinerary will be possible.

With out digging under the covers, there are many ports these behemoths cannot go to...ie tender ports, small dock ports etc.

Just booked for Feb 2023 LOL  just a few days to countdown.......   booked a junior balcony for now.  Its a smaller cabin but balcony is the same size.   Hubby just retired and I am hoping to be retired by then.     For us  the ship is basically our destination,  this one goes to Cozumel  which we love,  Costa Maya, not sure if we've been there  and Montego Bay,  only been there once,  loving 3 full sea days !!   I'm just happy to have a cruise  booked to look forward too !!

We booked yesterday! We have never done an inaugural cruise before, but this one sounds nice, as we have not sailed from London and that is one place my daughter wants to see. I just read some horror stories about the ships aren't ready when the it is time o sail and they are constantly doing some heavy construction which takes away from the experience. I like the ships to go around the block a few times before I get on it so they can get all of the kinks out, but the price was too good to pass up. So, we shall see!

Did anyone receive a special offer from Carnival after registering for Celebration deals?

Yes received $500 casino offer and free drinks when playing. I had the free drinks on the Horizon, was on the fence about booking this cruise but with all the other cancellations i said why not now i will be looking for a TA leaving from the states to London or Barcelona.

I used one of my FCC's on a December '22 Celebration cruise. Got a good bit of OBC from my TA as well. If they are still doing shareholder OBC in 2022 I'll be right around 1k. Should be able to splurge on the new ship. Since my Breeze cruise was canceled it'll be my first time to San Juan and St. Maarten unless I book something else between now and then...So I was happy to see those as itinerary options.

We booked Carnival Celebration out of Miami for January 8, 2023. A bit far out but we have a couple of Celebrity cruises scheduled for 2021/2022. Celebrity has recently raised its prices so much we decided to try this new Carnival ship, which was less than half the price of a comparable sailing on Celebrity. We last sailed on Carnival in 2009 (the Miracle). Looking forward to trying the new ship. A larger ship than we prefer but it looks interesting based on the deck plans and renderings. Almost identical to the Mardi Gras I believe. The atrium with the 3-story glass wall looking onto the ocean looks really nice. We don't mind the "blah" itineraries in the Caribbean that others remarked on. We've been to all of the Caribbean ports so many times we primarily sail for the ship and the sun. Also, we live in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area so it's easier to hop on a cruise ship to the Caribbean than to fly somewhere for a vacation.
