Holland America has now suspended sales of longer cruises. 

This is an interesting comment in this article: "For those who are currently booked on one of these cruises, we ask for your patience to receive further information from Holland America Line on whether your cruise is impacted."

The 8 day sailings are back on the RCCL site for booking, for now anyways.  At this point, I would be much happier being offered a 7 day cruise on that ship or another ship than simply just cancelling my 8 day cruise (again).

I just booked the Coco Beach Club for my 8 night cruise in May on Indy.

I had booked that the last time they had this crazy sale that's going on right now.  😄  $46.99 for the Beach Club is crazy cheap (and for Thrill Water Park too).  Now if I only get to use it.  😛

Royal will be happy to take your money to book cruises or extras for your cruise that may or not happen.  I truly hope your 8 day sailing sets sail and you can use that Beach Club.  They gladly took payment for my beverage package one day and I was informed less than 24 hours later that my cruise was cancelled.

Totally agree!!  I had to use my American flight vouchers that were going to expire, so no matter what, I'm going to Miami that week.

I had it booked at that price for my December cruise on Mariner that got canceled. I hope to use it this time. As a Senior, I hope to be able to get the vaccine early next year.

Well, I guess Royal is following Carnival's lead.  When I go to do a mock booking for Indy any time between May and August of next year, I can book the 6 night ones.  But for any of the 8 night ones, the screen shot below is what you get now.  @Ourusualbeach, any change in what you can see from your TA viewpoint? I'm still hoping this means they'll make them 7 nighters rather than cancel, I'd think that would make the most financial sense for them.

I'm just seeing that they are closed.  Looks like they pulled the plug on all 8 day sailings.  I checked Anthem and Empress and they are closed as well

So the standard answer.  Those reps are the last to know I think.  We probably find out things before they do.  I kinda feel bad for them.

Ugg, I cancelled a Disney cruise to move over the Indy on Oct 9th. If I'm not going to get the 8-night, I think I'd prefer to just go back to Disney, but of course the deposit won't be refundable until they decide to formally cancel it about 10 months from now.

Me too.  I am booked on the 8 night 7-17 Indy (casino comp).  I am also on the following 6 night.  I would be ok with spending 1 night on land in between.  I would rather stay on the ship...but 1 night in a hotel is better than an outright cancellation.

One of the folks in my cruise's FB group called and they said they will be canceling the 8 day cruises as they will have to change the itinerary.

Aruba and Curacao are too far to get to and back on a 7 day.

American actually gave us a full refund on non-refundable tickets back in March, which I was very grateful for.  Delta gave us vouchers that had to be used within a year so we booked for March 2021 with those vouchers.  If I cancel my March 2021 flights, the ones I used the vouchers on will not permit me to receive vouchers on those ones and I am out the money.  Not really fair if the border is closed and I cannot get to my flight across the border in Detroit.  Guess I could always try to claim it as non-delivery of services through the credit card it was paid on.

 

My wife has said we could just go to Florida on the flight if the cruise is cancelled, but that still does not solve the issue of not being able to get to the Detroit airport or the mandated 14 day unpaid quarantine when re-entering the country.

ugh, that's awful. I have several good friends in Canada who are lamenting the same situation with vacations they have booked, but can't cross the border.

I just saw this topic and I am on a 6 night Indy cruise in June. If RCL converts all the 6 & 8 night cruises to 7 night cruises then I would be OK adding a day at the front of the cruise but I have to be off the cruise on the original end date so if RCL adds the 7th day to the end, I can not go. Hopefully they will give all cruisers an option ( both 6 & 8 day) for a full refund.  As we all have stated ..... the sooner we know, the better.

 

Come on RCL .... let us know what is going on.

At this point, I don't see how anyone can book a cruise for next year with any confidence that the cruise won't be adjusted or just completely cancelled. I feel like none of the cruise lines have any idea what they are doing at this point.  They all seem to be guessing and are just hoping people will continue to put down their money on deposits for what IMO are fantasy cruises in 2021.  At this point, booking in 2021 is pointless and this thread is proof of that. Not that it makes me happy at all... it's just the situation we're all in.  It sucks!

At the moment it appears that all of the 8 night Indy cruises have been pulled from the site.  Before they were there but you couldn't book them, now only the 6 night ones are still there.

Has anyone on an "8 night cruise" been notified about potential "non sailing from Royal yet??  and if so what did they say.

Nothing has hit my inbox yet.  But then again, I never got the email telling me that my sailing on Brilliance had been moved to Indy, I found out on here when others were posting about it and then it eventually changed in my Cruise Planner.

Nothing has come out on any of the sailings  that are 8 days or longer.

 

Celebrity is supposed to make an announcement tomorrow regarding itinerary changes...maybe Royal will as well.
