excitedofharpenden Posted March 19, 2021 #126 Share Posted March 19, 2021 I think it's an odd decision because it will always be a reminder of what is currently going on in the cruising world and I'd rather forget about that in future! Definitely wouldn't be my choice. Phil
Rare oddjob16 Posted March 19, 2021 #127 Share Posted March 19, 2021 All *ward names have "belonged" to the early NCL. (Sunward, Starward, Skyward, Southward, Seaward, Westward, Dreamward, Windward and Leeward.) "Onward" doesn't tick any boxes for me. "So, what ship are you on?" "We are on the "Onwards" " "On the what...??" 1
procter Posted March 19, 2021 #128 Share Posted March 19, 2021 Will your vote for 5th ship be upwards then????!!
Rabo Posted March 19, 2021 #129 Share Posted March 19, 2021 Not thrilled with the name . . . but the ship’s name isn’t a factor in my choice of cruises.
Maya_C Posted March 19, 2021 #130 Share Posted March 19, 2021 I liked Onward better than Forth or Discovery, but it will be odd to say "I'm on the Onward."
TeaBag Posted March 19, 2021 #131 Share Posted March 19, 2021 Not thrilled either, but I would be thrilled to sail on it regardless of the name.
Cruiser6270 Posted March 19, 2021 #132 Share Posted March 19, 2021 Maybe a La La Land moment ?
Aardvaark Posted March 19, 2021 #133 Share Posted March 19, 2021 I never refer to an Azamara ship name without prefacing it with the Azamara so it will be Azamara Onward for me.

I assume “Onward” received the most votes from the “loyal customer” email and the associated other voting platforms? Hadn’t realised I liked “Forth” as much as I do now 🥴 Really looking forward to hearing about “Onwards” itineraries. Regards

norn iron Posted March 19, 2021 #136 Share Posted March 19, 2021 Did the vote count for anything? Seems to be a bit predetermined.
mdpa Posted March 19, 2021 #137 Share Posted March 19, 2021 The ship name is not that important to me…but I am pretty sure Onward was my choice. 😉 I am also responsible for the Hilton Doubletree’s redesigned logo. Two times I got my choice after participating in a survey.

Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted March 20, 2021 #140 Share Posted March 20, 2021 I will stuff the gaps in my suitcase [as if!] with Excelsior: Onward & Upward.
Rare AllisonJames Posted March 21, 2021 #141 Share Posted March 21, 2021 So as I previously mentioned Discovery was one of my suggestions and so of course I voted for that...but I have to say, like “Pursuit” the name “Onward” is already growing on me. First of all it fits well with the other three names. Also I like the sense of positive momentum, resilience and optimism it implies. I also think it is a very appropriate name for a ship that will be the first AZ launches post-pandemic. It gives me a sense of hope. I will be hoping to sail her as soon as she’s ready...my husband believes international travel will not truly be feasible (especially to multiple countries) until 2022 anyway so we are planning for that and focusing any 2021 adventures on the U.S. See you in 2022 Azamara Onward!

I was not happy with any of the choices. My suggestion was Azamara Venture. The important thing is that we now have four ships. 😁 The triplets and good old auntie Onward. 😂 Edited March 22, 2021 by oddjob16

However, there is a fourth ship which is positive news. Phil
