RE-PAINTING ALL HULLS to look like Mardi Gras! Wow!

Not a fan of the new look. It looks dated to me. Particularly the tacky "Mardi Gras" in the big swirly letters. That really looks bad. I prefer the clean, classy, white hulls.

Not a terribly significant change in the big scheme of things however, so not really worried about it.

One definite plus is that anchor wells (right under the bow)

won't show rust as much as previously!

Nowhere gets as nasty-rusty as anchor wells!

RARELY are they as pristine as this example.....

White paint on cruise ships looks best. It stands out in the ocean.

Additional vessels will receive the new livery

as they undergo scheduled dry docks.

Carnival Glory will be the second ship to receive the new hull design

during a dry dock scheduled in June.

The "Mardi Gras" font is a throwback to the original Mardi Gras, which had the same font on the side of the ship. Here it is on a vintage brochure. I think it's neat that they are paying tribute to their heritage.

Carnival Glory and Carnival Dream have departed from the U.S.

and are now heading to Europe.

They will be the next two ships to enter dry dock

in Cadiz and Marseille respectively, for refurbishment!

Looking fwd. to seeing pics, when they're done!

The folks at Aliaga in India sure are chewing into those two ships, huh!

Aliaga is in Turkey, actually  .. and thats a very old picture.   The Sovereign is completely gone now, Monarch is more than half gone and those old Carnival shifts are well into being history.

I guess I am missing something here. I have never once thought my cruise would be better if the ship was painted differently. While I think the new paint scheme is nicer than the current white, I don’t think it is anything to get excited about.

I agree and the new paint job looks to much like Disney!!

I hope to God they save the Panorama & Miracle for last... I do not need to have my cruises cancelled due to a paint job. That would suck! Hopefully everyone else gets to sail on their respective ships without being cancelled for a paint job.

Because the MardiGras font is exclusive to the MardiGras. This was the same font used back in 1972.

It's so much nicer and far more interesting than that dull plain font on the others ... shame they're not adopting it throughout.

Highly unlikely any cruise will be cancelled because of this hull painting.

As ships are scheduled to do their regular dry dock

- that is when the new paint job will be applied.

This process will take months if not years to accomplish!

Well it’s going to take many years then. Panorama is a brand new ship & the Miracle had her dry dock in 2020. I wonder if the Radiance got the paint job during her re-vamp?

I hear Carnival Elation is in dry dock.

If that's the case, that means she should be getting the new livery

and should emerge with a much-improved 'look'!

Looking forward to seeing pictures.

So far, it's just Mardi Gras and Magic displaying the new look -
although there may be another one? ..or two? Anyone know?

Where is Valor? It wasn't mentioned in the restart plans for New Orleans, so I just assumed it was going into dry dock.

Just answered my own question. It is in route to Marseille.  Where currently Glory and Dream are docked.

Marseille sounds like dry-dock time! With some luck

we could have a few newly-painted Carnival hulls, by end of July!
