In September of 1981, was at the opening concert of the Rolling Stones Steel Wheels tour.  The opening acts were George Thorogood and Journey.  It was at JFK stadium in Philly where Live Aid was in 1985.  Tickets were 17.50, which was outrageous since they were usually around 10 bucks.

Steel Wheels tour was 1989. They played 61 shows, I saw them in 7 different cities. After an extended guitar solo/jam, Mick Jagger started Sympathy for the Devil on a little platform, seemed like 50-60 feet up in the air.

Wow! You all really know your rock concert venues, especially the Stones. I remember the Stones concert back in Dallas in 1965. I was in high school, and my school bused the entire upper school(those that wanted to go) from my high school in Denton down to Dallas. Selwyn was the name.

That is really impressive. I always thought more of seeing bands early in their career compared to oldies tours 20-30 years later. The Stones are totally in a class of their own. They rebounded from years of hard living and most of their tours after the '78 American tour were great.

I also have a lot of old ticket stubs. And many of them also list the opening acts. This is especially true of Bethel Woods, which is actually at the site of the original Woodstock concert. The last one I attended was Santana with The Doobie Brothers opening for them. The first time I returned there was for Bob Dylan with Jimmie Vaughan opening for him.

Just curious as to why Carnival would target casino players when there likely won't be any gambling on board?  The CDC stipulates these are non-revenue generating cruises and gambling is revenue.
