surfjock27 Posted August 13, 2021 #477 Share Posted August 13, 2021 Do you know if they have Stella Artois onboard? I was on the Horizon right before cruising stopped and they did not have it. A bartender told me it would be back in a few months, but then COVID happened. Thanks in advance. 🙂

I was in the casino for a short period of time last night (trying to use up the promo freeplay chips at the $25 BJ table) and a guy sat down next to me that I had spotted approaching the table. He had all the hallmarks of being a strip club owner or similar. With a big t-shirt that said "COVID-19 Vaccine? SU%K HERE", with an arrow pointing downward. He was maskless. I did not ask him, but instead asked the dealer (and he could clearly here me) if masks were required - affirmative reply. I then asked if that was enforced - quiet moments, followed by our departure. The guy had already bought in (with perhaps a ten grand wad) and gave them his Diamond card for tracking. I had no illusion that they wanted to start anything with him. Now, I'm watching my back -- lol (kinda)! Tom I’m laughing so hard at this. This was probably my brother. He’s on the cruise and I’ve seen him wear that short, wish I’d went! He’s a nice guy but he’s really been radicalized lately about Covid and stuff. He’s actually a lawyer turned full-time landlord but I’ll be the first to admit he doesn’t know how to act at times and is vulgar and profane at times (he’s been kicked off these boards and some gambling forums as a result.) Our nephew (not his kid) owns a strip club and he and my brother are best friends so your description isn’t far off. Hilarious!!!

Rare jimbo5544 Posted August 14, 2021 Author #481 Share Posted August 14, 2021 So tonight we were able to get a reservation for Rudy’s Sea Grill. To be honest when first announced, I think I was rather ho hum about this place. Since then my level of understanding of who Rudy was and his achievements, especially at sea. we were at the ribbon cutting ceremony a week ago last Thursday when we participated in the sip and sea event. This raised my interest more. Fast forward to when Ton posted his pic and his experience dining here.
Rare jimbo5544 Posted August 14, 2021 Author #482 Share Posted August 14, 2021 So we were able to get a 7pm when we stopped in (nothing was available on the hub), but that is a different discussion foe a different day. Time for the pics.

Rare jimbo5544 Posted August 14, 2021 Author #491 Share Posted August 14, 2021 After a quick breakfast we headed down to the Punchliner comedy club which was the Diamond staging area. Shortly after that we were on our way. Decided not not wait for the car to the Rental car and Ubered over. By 8:30 we were on our way to mco. We shopped to fill the car up just outside the airport ($5 a gallon… nice hatchet job, but only took 1.5 gallons. Then to the airport MCO might now be right behind Oharre and Atlanta. What a cluster. By 10:15 we were at the gate. Full flight. Tonight I will summarize and have some comments. The Journey is almost over.

Shortly after that we were on our way. .... Hey Jimbo - what time did you guys get called out of the Diamond waiting area (self-assist or checked luggage)? In our cabin we received a note to arrive by 8 am (checked luggage) in the Piano Bar - two different GS individuals confirmed it was just for the two Presidential Suites. I heard plenty of announcements prior to our arrival there (about 5-10 before 8am), but didn't pay attention as we had a destination/time. When we arrived there, no signage at all, yet the doors were open and one other couple was waiting there. We sat down and soon found out that they had stayed in a Havana cabin. They indicated that they were told to wait there. I thought it odd that not one staff member walking by (phones in hand, helping with debark) ever stepped in to update us. By 8:30 (admittedly more than ample time) I wandered over to Punchliner's and asked the guy standing outside the door - of an EMPTY lounge - about the status. I told him where we had been instructed to go, our cabin info, and at what time we were to have arrived. He said "What's your luggage tag number", I replied that it was #1, and he said "you're good to go". WTH !!! I'm guessing we probably could have left before we even got there. During the 35+ minutes we spent in there (now I was tuned in to announcements), I heard nothing, nothing ! --- said in my best Sgt. Schultz inner voice. Thanks, Carnival, for giving us meeting instructions and just leaving us there to figure it out on our own! I will say, there have been at least two other occasions where we were in a Diamond waiting area and were forgotten - once being clued in by watching the Platinum guests stream past from the dining room. I guess it's on me - I should never assume that they have their ***** together !!! Once out, it went smoothly - I'm guessing the facial ID step was the fork in the road which determined if you needed to head to customs or to begin the luggage hunt? So, off to get our suitcases, a porter, and we were good to go (right as it started pouring rain). 🙂 We had a very good time onboard, and definitely enjoyed the ship. Tomorrow morning our scales will tell us how we really did!! Tom 1

Hogladyrider Posted August 14, 2021 #496 Share Posted August 14, 2021 Glad you are back! Enjoyed your reporting! Looking forward to your recap and general comments. I see from you tube that there were a few cases of Covid on the ship. Nothing to panic over just part of life in today's world as they say. We look forward to hopefully cruising this winter out of San Diego while we are wintering in Arizona. Look forward to your next cruise adventures! We walked in at 7:10 and were like 25 peoples bags lined up. They said we would leave around 7:30. We sis not even sit down and they came in and said lets go. We were outside by 7:25. 1
