A first look at the Koningsdam Menus

I was always under the impression the menus in Navigator pulled from the ship, so imagine my surprise at looking in my Navigator app for my November Mexican Rivera sailing to find that the menus appear to be available.

Breakfast appears identical to Alaska. Lunch looks to be very close to the Alaska lunch with the same menu every day and only a couple of items changed.

Dinner is very similar also. I think there is a little less repetition from one day to the next if memory serves me correctly and there seems to be a bit more Mexican flair but to be honest this only affirms my choice to focus on specialty dining for my upcoming trip (which is exactly what they want me to do).

Canaletto - looks identical to Alaska with same upsell pricing (by the way I highly recommend the crab risotto, hands down best dish we had on the entire trip, lamb in Canaletto was a close second). IMG_1534.thumb.PNG.ead130b2f35d619fd26e7e2db8ff3cae.PNG

Mine shows same for Koningsdam California Coast.  Funny that "Available Daily" at dinner are lasagne, French onion soup, and Caesar salad.  Different.

I find it very odd.  Of the lines I've cruised, there's always a few "plain" entrees to choose from - grilled chicken, steak, salmon, etc.

Interesting I just noticed there is no indulge section on the dinner but it appears on breakfast and lunch. Wonder if that is intentional or if it was not a success and a sign of things to change. Will be interesting to hear from folks once K starts sailing again.

The menus are nothing exciting that’s for sure.  I go to specialty restaurants quite often as well.  Thanks for sharing.

Doing my first solo cruise this time around and have 7/7 dinners booked in specialty. Might do a snack early or late in CO just to say I tried it.

I read on another thread they always have steak, chicken & I think salmon available but for some unknown reason they don't put it on the menu you have to ask.

Interesting, I suppose it would make sense that both itineraries have the same menus. Totally uninspiring IMO

Am not seeing daily MDR menus in navigator. Just one generic menu. Where did you find dailies?

When are you sailing? It only starts showing you a couple months before from what I have been able to gather.

It is under experiences -> dining -> the dining room and you can pull up breakfast, lunch & dinner.

We’re sailing next week and the only MDR menu on Navigator gives a Silver Gala menu. Daily activities calendar has day 1but  states it is still being planned for rest of cruise.

Thanks for sharing.

I can wait!😁😷

That is so interesting, I still see the one for yesterday and not the Silver Gala. I am sure it all will catch up when we are on board but it is fun to see what they are planning (and plan specialty dining accordingly)

Thanks for posting these menus; it's disappointing to see only four choices for mains in the MDR.  We had a better choice in Alaska on the NA.  Wonder what the NA will have in the MDR for the three weeks through the panama canal coming up.  We're not Pinnacle or specialty restaurant goers every night.

@zgscl Thanks for posting! I always looked forward to the various daily lasagnas (usually different each day) in the Lido. Now I see the Rustic Lasagna is available daily in the MDR but I don’t see mention of it in the Lido. I wonder if it’s like the chicken, steak and salmon in the MDR, still there but not on the menu? Anyone know?

what is lunch menu?

It’s the one from post 2 (first two pictures) appears to be like Alaska and not change daily. Ironically the lunch menu has far more choices than the dinner menu.

I saw from another thread they still have those three options even if not on the menu

I am not sure if this will be the final as it has no indulge section. Definitely a disappointment. I am thinking about trying Celebrity. Menus look way better but unfortunately I’m less interested in their daily activity program.

I hope these aren't the final menus.  Neither is at all exciting to me and the lunch menu is exactly the same as it was on our Alaska cruise which got boring after a few days.  I will be on the Mexican Riviera cruise at the end of the year so I'm hoping the menus improve greatly by then.  I noticed they did not put up a new menu today in the Navigator app.

I am planning 2 dinners each in Pinnacle, Sal de Mer, and Canaletto and 1 in Tamarind. May shift the numbers around before the sailing date but after our Alaska trip and seeing these I am very uninspired. Perhaps we will be wowed by the photos posted on the Oct 10th sailing and I will change my mind (unlikely)
