Blauelini Posted November 4, 2021 #1 Share Posted November 4, 2021 If one normally books through the RCCL site and does not use a TA, what is the best way to check for price drops? In the past I would do a dummy booking to see what the price will be and compare that to what I paid. Is this the best way? I really wish there was a way to set an alert through a 3rd party app to dynamically keep checking and sending you an alert in similar fashion as you can do for flights. vegas7df Posted November 4, 2021 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2021 Yes, doing a dummy booking will show you the current prices and you can compare to what you've booked.

There was, but I think they folded.

There are/were such apps, but some are gone and most were not as good as you checking yourself. 🙂
Ashland Posted November 4, 2021 #6 Share Posted November 4, 2021 Also if your cabin category has sold out you can still call RCI to do a price check.

bgoff60 Posted November 5, 2021 #9 Share Posted November 5, 2021 Did a price check today! Took about 45 minutes. We had 2 rooms on our reservation. A LOT of factors go into the repricing but...we got about $360 reduction on the one room and about $390 off the other. It pays to call from time to time. Jenna Posted November 5, 2021 #12 Share Posted November 5, 2021 I use the Shipmate app - I usually get an email every day or every other day as the prices fluctuate (unfortunately not in my favor).

This^^^^ I called just yesterday to reprice, because I had checked online via a dummy reservation and had seen that the rate for my kids' cabin had gone down. My cabin category is sold out, but had them reprice anyway when I called, and saved more on it than on the other!
