We have been onboard for a few hours now and have enjoyed Vines for the past hour.

When we arrived at our cabin, our Medallions would not open the door.  Our Room Steward opened it for us.  After, a trip to the Guest Services Desk, the problem was resolved.

Bags arrived by 3:30, we are unpacked and planning on returning to Vines before dinner.

I flew In this morning and boarded about 12:30. I had lunch in the dining room, visited the Enclave to see if there are special rules (there are not), checked out my cabin and unpacked. Did not totally organize but I can tomorrow.

i do have an aft balcony and there is soot I discovered 😂 I’ll ask my steward tomorrow about getting some off or what he recommends to not make a mess.

im not sure how many pax are on the ship, but many areas were a ghost town earlier. I was alone in the enclave, then alone in the Hollywood Conservatory for a bit, there were maybe 20 people in the nightly lounge, and at 6 the buffet was a ghost town.

I had some issues with my app getting a dinner time but it worked out. I thought I could get a sharing table as I did in August but was told at dinner they were not. I was seated at a table for two, a couple feet from some lovely folks who wanted to chat so it worked out. This is their first Princess cruise!

after dinner, I went back to the enclave, then came to my cabin and played a new favorite game, ordered food on the app to my cabin.

I hope my fellow pAssengers are enjoying the first night, here are some photos from today.

@pkt1976  Thank you so much for this live post!   I was hoping to buy the Enclave before I leave in two weeks, but was afraid that I was going to have to make an appointment .  When you go back can you tell me if there is a difference in price for a couples package purchased on line before or purchased on the ship?  Also, I notice that you are Elite , do you get a 10% discount on the Enclave?

Last night we continued to have issues with our Medallions opening our cabin door.  We were told it's an issue with our wall panel, not the actual Medallions.

The Piazza was busy last night after dinner with lots of passengers dancing.  Great team working in Vines!

Where are our fellow passengers?  I'm surprised there so few posts?

Sorry for the lack of updates on my end, trying to post here has been impossible until now.

Check-in could have gone smoother, but they finally resolved our credit card issue. I stopped at guest services to ask for any available upgrades, and we went from being in an inside cabin to a mid-ship mini suite. YAY!!!!

There are just under 1800 pax on board.

Here I am celebrating being on board after nearly 2 years.

Last night we ate at the Crown Grill, which was just ok. We’ll give them another chance later in the week.

The crew has been wonderful, and even with masks on, you can tell they are smiling.

Our meet & greet is at 10am, and I’m hosting a slot pull at 3pm. We tried our luck in the casino  last night, and didn’t do so well, however one woman hit a jackpot for slightly over $12k. She was much calmer than one would expect.

When I sailed on the Majestic in August, I never shared a table at dinner when arriving alone although I did request to do so. It turned out that no one else was asking to share at that time (8:00). I went with friends a couple of nights and did the winemaker's dinner one night. The other four nights I dined alone, but usually within chatting distance others. They were usually in the process of completing their dinner by the time I got there so I could ask which dishes they recommended.

Understood. I had to keep deleting cookies every time I wanted to post during my last live review. CC needs to fix that.  It takes a lot of time and is a PITA. I had no issues posting on other sites. Thanks for posting what you can. Love your pics! 😂

Ditto on your photos.  I had to compose some of my posts on my iPad Notes, email it to myself, open it on my phone, and post it via cell service when I got to San Diego or San Pedro.  @HBCcruiseris not the only one that had issues with Cruise Critic and Medallion Net.  Several have reported this issue.  Anybody know why?

I was told it was the same price pre purchase or on board, but sometimes the do charge more on board so I’d pre pay. No 10% off, that’s only spa services it seems

Here are the ship officers for this sailing. We had our meet and greet at 11 this morning in The Hollywood Conservatory. It’s a beautiful place at the very front of the ship with windows across the front and around to the sides.

several officers were kind enough to stop by and chat with us for a bit.

Kevin Tugwell is our CD. I haven’t met him before but he reminds me of someone I know, in looks and mannerisms. He’s likely better behaved though 🤣 I beat Dan at the Yes/no game in August, I will try to beat Kevin or whoever is leading tonight, I need a new notepad 😂 I don’t drink much but a bottle of champagne Is also an option.

Captain Tony Draper, Hotel Manager Bosco Pires, associate Hotel GM Loren Budd,  F&B Director Guy French, Guest Svcs Director Maria Goncalves, and Director of Restaurant Operations (Maitre D) Francisco Patricio all came by. I think I got them all 😬

I was a bit late as my friend, the amazing Nat from Brazil, was teaching Zumba. I met him on the Crown Princess in 2012, he’s awesome and you can see the joy in him to lead zumba, and In the past, dance classes etc. he was cruise staff but this contract he’s moved on to another position, but they’ve released him from the dungeon 🧟‍♂️ this cruise to teach Zumba 😉 he will teach again later in the cruise.let’s not tell him I said that or he will throw me in the dungeon 🤫😂 He pours  his heart and soul into it and I love seeing the joy on his face .

One of my goals was to try the chefs table or winemakers dinner. I did try, but I have a shellfish allergy so sadly the answer was no. I know others have had luck being accommodated but this is of course a different time. I’d just love the experience. I’m thinking I’ll try again when I board again in a few weeks and not tell them 🤫 but pick around any shellfish…. Maybe hide it under my plate 😂

There are 1748 passengers this cruise.

I think Kevin said he’s leaving for a break in February, he talked to fast or I typed too slow. If I was smart I would have taken video 🤦🏼‍♀️

I have an aft balcony and learned that the soot may not be  easily seen, til you walk through it 😂I was a surprise addition for my steward, and he did give it a nice scrub this morning.

we saw a whale at lunch, and I expect to see more going into Cabo.

cheers all!

Kevin was assistant cruise director on his first cruise when we went to Hawaii in 2018.  On the way back he and the CD wore sombreros backwards many days on the Wake Show until a passenger corrected them.  He is a riot and he has a Marine License as he formerly captained a booze cruise in Toronto

@pkt1976Thanks for all the pics. Please say hi to Kevin - from a fellow Canadian. Met him on the Star in 2018. He and I share the "fast-talking" gene. So happy you are taking us along for the ride. I enjoy your posts immensely. Have fun! I also want to try the Winemaker's dinner - maybe on Royal in May 2022. See you there?

Oh boy, I have that gene too 😂I’m so happy you enjoy! I have more of course I will post along the way. At this time, I’m booked to go to Alaska … again 😂 In May on the Grand, but I may go to Europe if things are improved by then.

This post is for the nerds like me 😂 I have an aft balcony and have seen the ship tailing us all day. Sitting out here I decided to see what ship that one and the other are.

the Carnival Panorama is stalking us it seems, I’m sure Captain Draper won’t let them beat us, not on his watch! 🙌 🚢 🌊 🌊🌊🌊………….🛶.

the other ship is a container ship, which is more interesting to me than most because I’m in corporate relocation and part of that is moving household goods around the world.

I will also say off topic 😂that Jorge, one of the head waiters in Concerto remembers me from August, likely because he wanted me to cooperate and pre choose food because of my shellfish allergy but they were busy so I told him it was fine. He won 😂it seemed to make him happy so I gave in…… and I hadn’t even told him that on that cruise I did indeed have issues with shellfish being in food and not labeled. He really is fabulous.

food and beverage on this cruise have been great for me. The august cruise was the 2nd cruise for this ship, glad to see the team killing it now.

Tonight is formal night and I was ready to make a reservation for a shared table 🙌 last night they said no sharing, but at breakfast and lunch today we could, so not sure what happened night one.

Tonight  is formal night and here are some photos from dinner tonight. I like to try new things. I tried the liver pate…. Not my thing but hey I tried it. 😂 Encore is the stage show tonight. They will play the yes/no game twice and Mind Duel, I don’t believe I’ve seen that played so I’ll likely stick around for that.
