This is why I would not book any excursions prior to getting on the ship.  Most ports are just too unpredictable.

This would definitely be the time to book an excursion with the cruise line. Yes it's probably double the price but at least you get a refund if you miss the port.

The official Covid count is 24 passengers (two days ago) but staff keep going missing. At dinner one of my children told me that only one of the two flow riders was running today because some of the staff trained to run it were sick. Don’t know if that is the reason, but the fact that Mama Mia was cancelled for “technical reasons” seems a bit far fetched. Just my opinion, but the sense chatting with the other passengers is that the number is much larger and that RCL doesn’t want to know because that would really be a problem. The fact that deck 3 is now being used for quarantine isn’t a good sign. Honestly, the ship seems really short staffed and the excuses aren’t adding up. I really hope this passes quickly.

Should be interesting how the rest of the cruises goes, any OBC added yet  because of ongoing issues?

The only OBC we got was for the missed St Thomas stop. Coco cay was traded for St Kitts, and while I was extremely disappointed, my entire family had a really nice time at Coco Cay. The prices were very high for the few activities that were available, but the free food was decent and all of the staff working the island were excellent. It would be really nice if RCL does something by way of refunds, but I’m not holding my breath.

Seems like it really was only two passengers with medical problems. The two came off on gurneys into two awaiting ambulances and it seems like one passenger was accompanied by a co-traveler. Hopefully they are OK. Captain said it was not Covid related. Given the large number of Covid positive passengers on board, for sure those passengers did not debark. We are already underway to Coco Cay now.

Thank you for keeping us informed. let us know how things were at Coco Cay and for your debarkation tomorrow at Port Everglades.

Then at about 6pm, the cruise director announced that the 7pm Mama Mia production had been cancelled “for technical reasons.” I hope they solve their “technical” problems for the next sailing. The Mama Mia production (we saw two days ago) was excellent. Really a pity.

It was also cancelled for "technical reasons" on the last day of the December 19 Allure sailing.

I am not worried at all.  Just curious as to how they will handle it.  All I am concerned about is just getting on the ship.  Then whatever happens...eh...happens.  I am already on board then...let the ship chips fall where they may.  😉

Airline?  No worries for me...takes me 20 minutes to drive to the port from my house.  😄

We're not far from the port as well.  We moved here 3 years ago so we could sail from that port. We don't have an impressive list of cruises that you have but we're willing to work on it.🤗🤭😄. We cruised on our first cruise over 30 years ago on RC'S first 3 ships, the sun viking. 20+ years later and a lifetime of hard work we started cruising again. We made Diamond on our last cruise back in 2019 and have yet to sail as a Diamond.  We sailed on the Harmony in the Mediterranean in its inaugural year. We have the 1/16 cruise planned and a 19 day south pacific cruise, Hawaii to Australia in October. Like everyone else, we've had many cruises canceled.  We've had friends go on 2 cruises this year, no problems. Hope by the 16th, things improve, but the email we got from RC makes us think this may get canceled if to many people cancel if there's no ports to go to.  The email was an opportunity out letting you know that ports and entertainment is not guaranteed. Like Disney saying there's no guarantee we will be open when you arrive.  Fingers crossed 🤞

All in all, the cruise went pretty well.  Stopping at Coco Cay and renting jet skis was worth it, along with swimming with the pigs.

Mamma Mia was a great production show. All the dining options were great and the bars gave great service.  Was able to win $800 at craps in the Casino over the course of the cruise.

Our flight home was cancelled, but we were able to rebook another flight. Just had to show some flexibility.

We hope all of you have a prosperous New Year and we wish you the best on your upcoming cruises.

Right now, I would be happy if my cruise sailed with minimal restrictions.  The excursions would be icing on the cake, but not really that important.
