Terminal 29 -- how we missed it.

Again, we really enjoyed following along on your adventure.

Was your aft corner on deck 12 or a lower deck?

We were in 7309 on deck 7 on the port side. Great cabin location as Luminae was on deck 3, so it wasn’t too much work to walk down and more importantly up the stairs after eating! 😂

Thanks for such a wonderful recap of your fantastic journey.  We are on the Reflection in April.  Just wondering if you think there will be less people onboard because it is a 9 night cruise.

If anything I would think there would be more passengers, especially if the C19 curve continues to flatten.

Thank you.

On Reflection we were on deck 11, on our upcoming Silhouette cruise we are on deck 12, under the OVC outdoor eating area, and on our upcoming Solstice cruise we are on deck 10.  We don't mind the longer walk and really enjoy the view from the corners.

Yep - that's always a rather depressing sight!  🙂

Tom

But Ken got to see it twice, so not always!

Seeing it at the turn of a B2B is actually kind of a fun experience.  Thinking "We're about to start a cruise" when you're still on the ship is unique.  Almost get the feeling that the new folks coming aboard are 'visitors' to your home away from home.  Hard to explain.

I know what you're talking about. 🙂  We've only managed one B2B thus far and the feeling, particularly on the last day/evening of the first leg, is unique.

So true. But to be honest, I'm not sure we would even want to book a 7 day cruise anymore. Once you make the leap to longer cruises, it's hard to go back especially if you're retired and have plenty of time to spare. Heck, we just start learning our way around the ship by the end of the first week! 🤣

One more question:  did you park at the port?  We are debating between that and leaving the car at our pre-cruise hotel - not much cost difference to worry about. Are cars safe in the lots at the port?

Thanks!

We stay at Homewood Suites Ft. Lauderdale Airport-Cruiseport.  For an additional  approximately $50 above the room rate booking the Cruise package you get shuttle for 2 to the port and parking for up to 21 days.

Our hotel has a shuttle, too.  We were just wondering if it might be easier to just park at the port so we have the car there and not have to worry about the shuttle there and back.

Yes, we always have parked at the car park at Port Everglades when we drive and have never had an issue. I must say it’s quite nice to just walk across the street from the terminal and get in our car and drive home.

We have found it easy after a cruise to just grab a Lyft or Uber back to the hotel and leave. It's quite a bit less expensive than parking at the port on a longer cruise. Either works, pick your choice and have an awesome time!
