Looks like one of the spacious ocean view cabins. I think those take up to six people. As someone who spends no time at all on the balcony I'd take the one you're in now any day! :classic_laugh:

I have that style of cabin as a solo for the world cruise. 😁

Day 1

Don’t get excited… there is NO MUSHROOM soup!  It’s cauliflower soup.  I got excited for a moment.  Again supply shortage also hit the MDR!

I hope they get this resolved before I cruise in May. Love the mushroom soup.

Thanks for the room pics, Benny. I had put in a Royal Up offer on a Spacious Family Balcony for our Allure cruise this past September, but couldn’t find many good pictures of one. I realize that yours is Oceanview,  but I loved seeing the space you got! I ended up doing a self upgrade from our Boardwalk Balcony to a JS for less than any of my Royal Up bid minimums would have been. We loved our room, the extra space we got, and definitely the curtain! DH is an early bird and I’m a night owl, so having the curtain is a big bonus for us!

I’m looking forward to following along on this budget leg of your cruise to see how it compares to your first leg. I’m not sure how you’ll survive without your afternoon snack at Izumi! 😱😂 Will Benny be able to stick with his economy plan, or will he give in and upgrade his dining and beverage experiences? Time will tell…….. 🤣

That is the best cabin.  After one day I will take this canine over Oceanview/balcony.  The space in here is incredible for one and perfect for two.

I am trying to figure out what to do with the bunk beds.  My luggage fit in the closet and I got me storage space than I know what to do with so I have not come up with any use for the bunks beds.  What a problem I am having.

Following along for week two, on my last cruise my bag wound up in the naughty room because of a can of cashews, what a pain in the XXX that was.

I learned my lesson about confiscated items.  I now pack canned nuts, candy, bottles wine, electrical cords in the suitcase I carry onboard.  So they can scan it all they want.  I one time had my suitcase stopped because the person has never seen a French press before.  She said she never seen a metal one.

ME TOO.  I love that mushroom soup.  I am surprised to see the mushroom soup on the menu at MDR when it is served at Chops.

Sometimes it does not pay to Royal Up but sometimes it does.  It cost me $50 to go from an interior to this ultra spacious on a goof.  I also put in for a bid for neighborhood Central Park view for $20.00.  They went with the higher bid lol.

I am also surprised that they serve salmon at dinner time at MDR.  On NCL the only place you find salmon is at a specialty restaurant.  They usually serve tilapia or basa which I really do not care for but I digress.  So this week I am eating my fish cooked instead of raw 😝.

I even deployed my trusted water pitcher because I did not get any beverage package.  Good old Tupperware!

Day 2 Perfect Day

Does getting room service for breakfast still count as a value cruise since I tip extra?  I am going to say yea because they don’t charge a delivery fee in the morning and I did not order the hot stuff and oatmeal does not count.

Day 2 Perfect Day.

I am still trying to figure out what type of Lavazza coffee bean they use.  I have tried all the bags they sell in different colors and I still haven’t tasted the one NOT to buy.  I don’t think they are brewing Lavazza the ship because I brew Lavazza at home and it does not taste like that 😂

I like the Central Park Balcony but wow this room is HUGE especially for one person!  I am loving the space!

Only problem with that cabin though is for some that location at the front of the ship can get very rocky during rough seas, you can really feel the movement up there on smaller ships, not so bad on the one you are on.

Didn't you say your wife upgraded to an aft facing wake  balcony cabin for the World Cruise?  Sounds like you both are really going to get your walking in? Sounds like that might get old after a month or so of doing that?

Yes!  I am pretty high up and I sleep soundly but this morning while we were docking in CocoCay, I was woke up because I felt the shaking and rattling.  I thought I had put a roll of quarters into machine to make the bed shake/vibrate.  It was strong enough to vibrate me awake.  I woke up and then ducked under the covers again.

That's a different kind of movement, you can get that both on the aft or at the front of the ship when they are docking these large ships. I'm talking about they can be ALOT of movement at the front of the ships when traveling in rough seas.

I will report back as I am sure we will travel through rough sea.  It was rough on a few days last week.

I think people worry too much about that.  On a ship that big, if being forward versus mid ship makes that much of a difference, one should probably avoid cruising.  That is just my opinion obviously, but if the weather is bad enough for the larger classes to move around enough to feel it, you tend to feel it everywhere.

I did mention that, on larger ships not as much as a factor  but on a smaller ship like Serenade that John is going on around the world it might factor in.

At the margins, I guess.  But if 20 foot rolling seas bother someone, a mid cabin isn’t going to do a thing to help.  Same thing applies 10 foot seas.  Etc.

I just caught up after reading your first review of this trip and now enjoying your 2nd half of your B2B. Never been on a B2B so this is exciting to follow.

We have UDP, first time, on Adventure in September, (out of your neighborhood!) so thanks for sharing your UPD experience.  Like many, this will be the third time trying to do this cruise (L&S), so fingers crossed.   Thanks for all the pictures and descriptions, very helpful!!

Welcome aboard the virtual cruise!  I truly love Adventure of the Sea.  I love Giovanni’s Table on adventure and of course Izumi (they do not have hibachi on that ship) and Chops (again we tried Chops but did not care for it that much, the steak was better at Giovanni’s Table).  During the smoking days in the casino, we would sit at Izumi and watch the smoke coming up from below like a chimney ( open staircase down to the casino from Izumi) it was wild.  Good times!  Smaller ship but still fun!  Lots of players at Casino Royale hence the smoke plume.

I assume you are going to Bermuda?  Or the early Canada cruise?  We thought about that but Oasis is coming back to NJ in May so we will just Uber over and get back on the Oasis again in  May.

Have a fantastic cruise!

That vibration was wild and unexpected this morning for me.  But once I felt that sensation it was actually kind of soothing.  Like sitting on top of a dryer lid of feeling 😂

My experiences  the front is the worse, yes both mid ship and aft can rock too in rough seas no way around that just the front it where the movement will be more.

Day 2

The gym this morning was very empty but that’s probably the CoCoCay factor.  I am not one of those that needs to rush out at 8AM plus with 3525 guests onboard I am sure I can find a place to hang my towel somewhere out there.  I will be strolling out shortly for my chicken sandwich.
