triple7tahoe Posted February 17, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2022 I got a new casino offer today which included free balcony, beverage, gratuity package and wi-fi. The offer was standard with $200 deposit plus port fees needed. In the fine print it says "cannot be combined with other onboard credit". I have taken a few of these in the past and do not remember that part. I have always gotten my military and CCL credit in addition to what was in the offer. Am I overthinking this?? Yes, I know that I will probably have to call Princess Casino Dept. to get answer but I thought others might have the same question?

Mike45LC Posted February 17, 2022 #3 Share Posted February 17, 2022 I still received my Shareholder's On-Board credit on a recent Casino offer despite the fine print.
WAvoyager Posted February 17, 2022 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2022 There have been reports of shareholder credit requests being denied for casino promo bookings lately. Could be they’ve updated the policy and the language.

I do know we received the OBC for military and shareholder for those we have taken and for all still out there (at least it shows on our personalizer). Maybe I have not read the fine print close enough before. I do know that many offers gave ON board casino credit but only on the first cruise under each offer. Most offers would allow up to three free staterooms but Casino credit only on the first one.
suekel Posted February 18, 2022 #6 Share Posted February 18, 2022 I've always gotten my shareholder OBC including for the 4 casino cruises that I have booked in the next year. Plan on turning another one in tomorrow, so I guess I'll see.
gerig Posted February 18, 2022 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2022 My existing Alaska cruise was listed on this offer. I called figuring I would save money with the balcony offer but wanted to keep my penthouse suite and was quoted a price that is more than I paid. Evidently Princess adds a suite surcharge which makes the offer more money. Crazy.
Rare CineGraphic Posted February 18, 2022 #8 Share Posted February 18, 2022 I’m currently on a free casino cruise, (my first freebie) and I didn’t dare apply for the shareholder’s benefit.

I think Princess will give you the on-board credit only if you upgrade the cabin from the free offer. My wife insists on a minimum of mini-suite, which the casino has not offered us, so we have to upgrade. I look at it as a small rebate on the upgrade cost.

Until I received this latest offering I would have applied for all that I could. I have done close to 15 (free) casino cruises. I have talked with Casino booking folks and they remind me that Princess is not giving me the cruise--The casino is! Granted the Casino probably gets a discounted rate but many of their booking agents go out of their way to offer even higher benefits. I have received stock holders and military credit on all in addition to onboard casino credit. That is why I wondered about what appears to be additional "small print". I will know more tomorrow as I have picked a couple of cruises 🙂

I agree with your wife. My most recent booking was awesome. I was offered a balcony and then upgraded to a mini for $200 pp. 10 days. Never got one so cheap. My parents leave today with no upgrade and have both shareholder and military. Holland America will not give shareholder on comped cruises.

How do you get a casino offer? Which casino works with Princess? Is there a certain level you need to be at? How much (approximately, on average) do you spend on slots? table games? rooms? dining? I am moving back to Las Vegas soon and would like to make sure I go to the right casinos to try to qualify. Thanks!

Once you’ve cruised, and spent time in the casino, the Casino group will add you to the marketing list. A couple of hours of play, a couple of nights per cruise will usually be enough to receive offers, but they won’t be great. My wife gets free inside cabin, or 35% discount offers. I spent 2-3 hours, 7 nights (out of ten), with mif-sized wagers, and I get free balcony with comped play offers. some of the Vegas casinos do cross market with the cruise lines - offering free cruises as a promo. It probably doesn’t cost them anything, as the cruise lines casino groups probably bear the majority of the cost, to acquire new customers. The Venetian was doing it for a few years, with Princess, although I haven’t seen those promos recently - probably because of the pandemic. Our local (tribal) casino also ran one at the start of the pandemic, with Holland. We were all set to go, and then everything got shut down. I don’t remember who that company is but I did contact them once & was told I didn’t qualify. Your time spent is only on our cruise ship not in a casino elsewhere. How some people get contacted & some don’t is the $64,000 question. Hopefully someone will post what company is in charge of the casino’s. memoak Posted February 18, 2022 #16 Share Posted February 18, 2022 I had a free balcony with $500 casino cash and was able to upgrade to a club class mini for a very small price. What they wanted for a full suite was like 4-5 times more

Interesting! I think on the next cruise I'll ask a pit boss just for sh!&$ and grins...I'm curious because we usually play aplenty of Craps and I've never received a Casino Cruise offer. Do they have Players Cards like on-land casinos? I've never thought to ask.

disneyochem Posted February 18, 2022 #22 Share Posted February 18, 2022 (edited) I’ve had free cruises on NCL from Harrah’s in the past. None recently since we sold our cabin in Tahoe and no longer go to Harrahs! Got a free cruise offer from Princess (inside cabin) this year. I am also not a high roller— play the slots and always bet the minimum. Take $300 cash each cruise for my gambling budget. But, similar to land casino play, I’m careful to spread that money out over the whole cruise. Before embarking on the Majestic last week, received an offer of $600 free play on a cruise before September 2022. Also received an email with 35% off + $300 free play. I refared three of our cruises to get the lower rate. Edited February 18, 2022 by disneyochem Spelling

Email for questions--oceanplayersclub.com/contact .They do not seem to be associated with any cruise line, We have a couple of friends that work for them including one young lady from Peru--Monica- that we have hosted when the ship she was on came into San Francisco and gave her tours of the area. On one trip she was able to take us aboard and gave us a chance to see the crew area--Rooms/ bar (love their price), mess facilities and rec area. Deck 4 and the main walkway is called the M-1--Yeap just like the UK although not many Brits there 🙂

masscruiser2010 Posted February 18, 2022 #25 Share Posted February 18, 2022 Ocean Players Club is the organization that is over all the casino clubs of the various cruise lines owned by Carnival Corp. This includes Princess, Holland America, Cunard, Costa, Seabourn, etc. The other major cruise lines -- NCL, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, MSC -- have their own casino clubs, and you have to deal with them individually. There is NOT a company that runs the casinos on most cruise ships. Most of the cruise lines run their own casinos.
