“LIVE” from Enchantment of the Seas – March 05, 2022 (12Nts)

Recommended Posts

It appears that Enchantment of the Seas has stopped moving due to a passenger that requires a medivac to take them to a hospital on land. The helicopter is on route and should be here soon.

It was suggested that the upper decks will need to be cleared for this passenger extraction. It's a shame that the passenger needs a medical evacuation during the first 24 hours of the cruise.

I hope everything turns out ok for this passenger.

Been hearing of too many of these lately it seems.  Hopeful thoughts to this passenger and their friends/family. 😞

The Coast Guard came and has left with the ill passenger.

The passenger involved has been successfully transported to a hospital in North Carolina. The cruise director suggested that the passenger was in good spirits when the Coast Guard took him away. The ill passenger's wife went with him ashore.

Enchantment of the Seas was stopped for about 2 hours during the evacuation process.

The Captain suggested that our itinerary and schedule will remain the same.

I couldn't go outside, but I did view the Coast guard chopper from Deck 8.

The evacuation team is getting ready.

It appears that the evacuation team were posing for a photo just before the Coast Guard arrived.

Glad things went well.  On our 2/5 trip a crew member had to be evacuated that way.  Many delays but the mission was eventually successful.  I am surprised by these helicopter evacs.  Thought they were avoided if possible.  Again, glad things went well.

The Loyalty Ambassador has suggested that there are 1,415 passengers on board Enchantment of the Seas.

That works out to approximately 55% to capacity.

Hi Mark, when we were on Anthem last month my time dining didn't start until 6:46. Do you know if they changed it back to 5:30 plus fleet wide?

Thanks

Walter

You are right, MTD wasn't until 6:45 for Anthem of the Seas in December and Oasis of the Seas in October. I know that it has been at 5:30 p.m. for the ship for over 2 months. I am not sure about fleetwide.

Hello everyone and good day. Today was a very relaxing day. The weather has been very strange though. The temperature is warm (70f) but it is very windy. It certainly doesn't feel like 70°, but things should get better tomorrow.

Casino Royale and the Royal Shops opened today and they were packed. One of the dealers suggested that I haven't seen anything yet. Casino Royale has one of its busiest times during the first day at sea after dinner.

There were a lot of trivia events today, and live music seemed to be everywhere. The pools were open but only a few kids decided to take a dip. The solarium pool however, has been busy all day with passengers swimming, using whirlpool, playing cards, and napping.

Speaking of napping, I was able to watch news for about 90 minutes this afternoon. It felt wonderful.

I will try a little later to see if Casino Royale will be a little more "Radio Friendly" then it was earlier today. On a side note, I am very happy with the Coffee machine up in the Diamond Lounge. I had a very delicious Cafe' Americano there this morning and this afternoon.

Thank you for the nice comments, and thanks for tuning in.

I feel bad that the lifeguards have to stand at guard even window passengers are swimming.

The Oasis bar has not been opened yet. Maybe they will open as the pool deck gets busier later this week.

Several crew members have been seen walking around spraying a type of mist disinfectant around the interior of the ship.

According to Royal Caribbean, Casino Royale is closed the first evening due to State and Federal regulations. The Cruise Director suggested that the ship must be in International waters before the Casino can open.

I am not sure why Carnival Cruise lines will open the casino 30 minutes after leaving Cruise Maryland, and Royal Caribbean must wait until we are out of the Chesapeake Bay.

they avoid actually landing on the ship whenever possible but they do evacuations by dropping a basket down to the ship, loading the passenger into the basket then lifting them up to the chopper.

I'm sorry.  The whole lifeguard thing only exists because there were parents who had no clue where their kids were and there were a couple of drownings because of that and those weren't all on Royal.  Lawsuits and poor parenting is what led to those employees having to be out there even when no one is in the pool.

Also, as for the Oasis bar, I've seen where it hasn't been open.  Hopefully with more people cruising that will change.

Also, not sure why they are misting.  Surfaces aren't transmitting the virus.  It's a bit of "feel good" theater.  Our church stopped doing this weeks ago.

Hello everyone good morning. Welcome to DAY 3 of "LIVE" from Enchantment of the Seas.

We are sailing our 2nd Day at Sea toward St. Croix, USVI. The skies are very cloudy, but the forecast shows it should be 71 ° f and sunny this afternoon.

Dinner was very good last night in the My Fair Lady Dining room on Deck 5. It seems that most passengers that choose My Time Dining would prefer earlier dining. I was there around 8:00 p.m. and there were hardly any passengers in the restaurant. It seems that most came early.

The Headliner Showtime last night featured the "Alley Cats" in the Orpheum Theater. They are billed as a doo-wop entertainment comedy quartet. They we're very entertaining, and very funny.

I decided to stop in Bolero's to see what was happening. The "Latin Dream Band" was featured and these guys were great. The music was spectacular, and I would recommend this group if you like Latin music.

There are a ton of  activities planned again today for our second day at sea. The crew seems convinced that the sun will shine and passengers will be filling up the pool decks later this afternoon.

Thanks for tuning in. . .

We thought Latin Dream, in Bolero's, were outstanding, too!  Bar staff, as well as us, had trouble not tapping our toes -- or dancing -- many evenings.

Yes, I am surprised that the place wasn't packed. They we're great.

I was on the Enchantment of the Seas cruise before this one. So it’s fun to watch your cruise online. If you see the waitress/host at the buffet entrance named Yaxiang, tell her Heather from the last cruise says hello! I’ve been on a lot of cruises and she’s one of my favorite cruise staff ever.
