victory2020 Posted March 3, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2022 Hello, we have received (well, my husband did - for playing about $10 for the first time) a casino offer for a inside room for $249 with $100 pp OBC for a 7 day cruise. Is there anything else that comes with this? Seems like I keep seeing people getting free drinks or even better deals (ie free cruise).
eclue Posted March 4, 2022 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2022 If you gamble more, you tend to get more from what we have seen.

For $10 spent, you probably got the best deal you are going to see. Gambling more gives higher discounts or even free cruises. You can probably add the Princess Plus package for $40 a day pp.

WAvoyager Posted March 4, 2022 #5 Share Posted March 4, 2022 You may have received a general Princess offer, and not an offer from the Princess Casino department. Check the number you’re supposed to call to make the reservations - if it directs you to the Casino desk, then it’s from the Casino, if not, it’s a standard Princess offer. Princess has a “Cruise and Play” promotion which they sent out to pretty much everyone - no previous casino activity required. Princess is pushing really hard to get people back cruising, so it’s definitely possible the Casino is reaching out to all casino patrons with offers, but at that play level, it’s more likely it was a general promo. My Mom gets much better offers than I do from the Casino. She does spent 2x more time playing when we’re on a cruise. We both get free sailings, but she always gets balcony rooms, with perks (casino credits, etc). I usually get ocean view rooms, with fewer credits. Nothing is FREE when you gamble.....the casinos have figured out what the possible loss is per gambler when they invite you to gamble with your money......you will pay for it one way or another or one day or another sometime in the future.....that is why Las Vegas casinos averaged over $1 billion dollars a month in winnings in 2021 and continue to do so in 2022. memoak Posted March 4, 2022 #7 Share Posted March 4, 2022 You are lucky to get what you got for what you gambled. If you gamble 2 hours a day or more per day you will get the offers you hear about
Level six Posted March 4, 2022 #8 Share Posted March 4, 2022 We got the same offer and recently(Nov 21) had spent $20 each on a 15 day cruise. Not a penny more. We booked and leave in 2 days, haha. We paid $249 for a balcony! Plus $100 each...........it was too good to pass up. I doubt we will gamble, we lost that $20 in less than 10 minutes and never went back to the casino. victory2020 Posted March 4, 2022 Author #9 Share Posted March 4, 2022 I gamble every cruise & have never gotten an offer. I wanted to go on the cruise by myself but don't have the offer, It did come from Princess. I can't get the Princess plus because if I add it I loose the $100 OBC

Level six Posted March 4, 2022 #11 Share Posted March 4, 2022 Majestic. A few weeks ago, the balconies on the 7 day Mexico were $299 and the 7 day costal were $249, maybe like Valentines weekend. It was only that way for a few days. We booked both. You could get an interior for like $149. We held and booked the next day. You had to be signed into your account to get that price. Rare Coral Posted March 4, 2022 #13 Share Posted March 4, 2022 I gambled very minimal in December and have also received 2 casino offers since then. It has a Reference code of CASINO so I assume it is a Casino offer. Prices are impressive also.

We will see how it goes, we tested negative today and board on Saturday.
Jadn13 Posted March 4, 2022 #15 Share Posted March 4, 2022 Reminder: For free cruises offered through the casino dept the free cabin offer is usually valid to be used 3 times. (Although the extra OBC is usually only for the initial booking) Always good to read the fine print.

Exactly - DW often get OBC in addition to reduced fare. I'm not foolish enough to think we come out ahead but hey, its her crazy money. She never visits a casino on land so she's smart about the whole thing.

Even if we go to Vegas for a weekend, I lose my $20 and that is it. Maybe if I ever won it would be different, but I never do. But.....how much do you think you gamble in that 2-3 per day? Just curious.

We are Elite so have cruised a lot. We've been offered a casino discount for years. We aren't big spenders in the casino but we do gamble in their several days out of each cruise we are on. During the pandemic, there were many casino offers including reduced pricing as well as free onboard casino cash. We still gamble while onboard but the casino discounts have decreased by a great deal and no more free play money is being offered for us. While we gambled quite a bit more than our friends that went with us last time (and they are relatively new to cruising), our casino offer was much less of a value than their offer. I'm not complaining one bit, mind you, I just think that the casino offers are given to hook people in to see which clients will frequent the casino more often. We still receive a small discount and I'm sure it's based on our play while onboard. It sure is better than no offer at all. We just look at gambling as the price of entertainment. And hey, if we come out ahead, then all the better.
