OBC suggestions

I’m looking for OBC suggestions for a Caribbean cruise this June.  Not big drinkers so included standard beverage package in fine.  With onboard Covid cases creeping up do not plan on taking a ship (or any) shore excursions or hitting the casino.  Tips are included so fine there.  I suppose we could find some Apple products or something in the Ship shops or perhaps upgraded Internet package.  Any other thoughts?

I was searching through the threads earlier as we have $1000.
it might help?

Here you go

Because this gets asked so often I've compiled a list of things to spend OBC on. The only thing I know of now that you CAN'T buy with OBC is a deposit on a Future Cruise. You need a credit card for that.  Also, there may be some card game in the casino with a cash only buy-in.   If they do a fundraiser, like selling t-shirts to “save the reefs” and the like, expect to need cash for that.  Otherwise, here you go:

*Acupuncture

*Airport transfers

*Alcove Rental (some ships)

*Apple products etc. and Ilounge classes

*Art Auction Purchases

*Babysitting

*Barber Shop services

*Beverages -- Alcoholic, carbonated soft drinks, specialty coffees and teas, bottled water — if not in your package, also beverages above your package limits

*Bingo and Deal or No Deal

*Bottles of wine

*Casino

*Chef’s Table

*Corkage charged if you bring your own bottles of wine to the MDR

*Duty free liquor and cigarettes

*Extra cost entrees and other items in Main Dining Room and specialty restaurants

*Extend Your Stay program

*Fitness classes

*Flowers

*Gelato

*Gift shop souvenirs, purses, watches, cosmetics, clothing, jewelry, etc.

*Gratuities, and extra gratuities

*Guests dining with you in Luminae (applies to Suite Passengers only)

*Guest entertainers' CD's and DVD's

*Hair and nail salon

*Hollywood hot glass experiences (some ships)

*Internet if not in your package, also Internet upcharges

*Laundry/pressing/drycleaning

*Liquor Tasting events

*Luggage Valet

*Martini Flights

*Medical Center purchases (but not treatments)

*Mini bar

*Portrait photo sessions

*Pay-per-view movies

*Persian Gardens passes

*Personal Training Sessions

*Photos & cameras

*Room service up charge items, and late night delivery fee

*Ryde spinning classes

*Shore Excursions

*Shuttle to town (some ports)

*Spa -- massages and treatments

*Specialty restaurants

*Teeth Whitening

*Telephone calls using ship's system

*Transfer to another passenger's account

*Voyage in Review DVD

*Wine and liquor tastings

*Zumba

Take a Behind the Scenes ship excursion.  Ours included lunch in the Tuscan Grill.  I was able to cash out at the casino and I proceeded to leave cash for staff and brought some $$$ home.

Print a blackjack strategy card which they'll allow you play on the table with, play with the OBC, pocket your winnings.  You stand a really good odds of breaking even and then you learn a new skill.  As a bonus you MAY receive discount or free future cruises.

Go to a slot machine.    Log in.     Tranfer via "room Charge" the amount of the OBC you want to turn to cash.    It will transfer that amount to the machine and credit it against your OBC.    Play one pull just to be nice.  Cash out of the machine.  Take the ticket to the cash cage and get your money.     You now have you OBC as cash in your hand to use as you like.

We were on Apex just a couple weeks ago and had a $900 OBC we were never going to spend.    We took $400 out this way and mama bought some jewelry in Grand Cayman and we over tipped those we felt deserved it throughout the cruise.

I have been on 4 cruises with OBC. I have been using in casino doing roulette. I tried buying Apple products but nothing is anything current. They are way behind and last I heard no word on when they will be getting anything in. Good luck.

zdad59- I've seen this or something like it before, but never tried it. I like using their money for roulette. But, next cruise I may be social distancing so not playing roulette. Do you know if this slot trick works on Equinox? Also, how do I log in? Never played slots before.

Not sure if it works on Equinox or not…sorry.    For slot machine login info, just go to the cash cage.  They’ll give you a little card with instructions.   The key thing is that your initial PIN is the month and day of your birthday.   Once in you change it to whatever you want.   At least that’s how it works on Summit and Apex.

I've never found a ship that doesn't give plenty of opportunity to spend money if you're looking to do so.  I love the spa, so I was in there every day when I had a bunch of OBC.  Even that wasn't enough, so I bought some gifts in the shops, did some tastings, hit that casino, and left plenty of extra tips.

That still wasn't enough, so I went down to the front desk on the final evening, double checked my balance, and then split that between my room steward and butler.
