So Princess introduces a character on all their cruise ships that does nothing except walk around and be a hostess by talking to all the passengers. (presumably to entice them to gamble ?)

Obviously they have to pay them a salary which only adds to the cost or doing business.

 

At the same time they eliminate pens, paper, chocolates each night in order to save a few dollars since their still hurting from being shut down from the pandemic.

As a 30 year old that’s in her “target audience” I literally can’t stand her. The one they had on the discovery was so bad and the jokes were so stale during bingo….. literally wasted 20 min just cracking stupid dry jokes. Completely bombed the character on my survey and will do it every cruise I can

Casino pays Fortuna and that's a separate company from Princess. Gambling money is the source here.

Pretty sure Fortuna gets a lot of positive comments too.....nothing wrong with the character or adding fun to Bingo...which is so lame to begin with!  Team Fortuna!!!

Didn't Princess indicate Crew Appreciation pool includes entertainers and those in the onboard revenue areas?

 

Tho they were coy about who might be part of that group.

They’ve always had casino hosts and someone to host bingo. They just have one person in a costume now. I don’t think it’s added any staff hours

They never have "normal" casino staffers doing Bingo.  They can be fun but some just carry it a bit too far and go overboard with the schtick.

I don't remember her being in the casino at all on the Sky.  Just bingo and trivia.

We saw hew character hanging around some of the trivia games on the Enchanted.

She didn't actually do anything except talk to people before the game.

Right...we have been seeing this change coming for a while. They are not just a bunch of great "kids" with personality they are now hiring actors basically to play the parts of Cruise Director staff.  DH said that on the Sky when we first saw their version of Fortuna.

Fortuna Luck on Sapphire at the moment is engaging and funny, she has boundless energy. I was also not sure what exactly her role is, but she certainly makes Bingo more fun 🙂
