How do you Cash out a Military OBC in the Casino?

With no experience in that area, I apologize if that's a stupid question.

Here is a link to Princess Military benefits.  Casino - nope.  Also it's not refundable  - but once you've qualified, get with every cruise you book....

We were on the Caribbean Princess in June.    The military credit was not refundable.   (We spent it in the casino.)

I think you are misreading this.  Any OBC listed with an * is non-refundable - you don't have any.  Check the image in post #16 on the first page to see what I mean.  If you had Shareholder Benefit listed it would have the * after it.

It also applies to British and Canadian veterans also.

On our last cruise we went to guest services to sort out another issue and were asked if we wanted to have our Military OBC in cash (it was near the end of the cruise) it was about $130. I think this was because we live in the UK, we said yes of course!

Thanks for posting.  I was beginning to think something had changed with the military OBC.  Did check  out   our cruises through 2023 and all show as refundable (no *).  The only "non" word I could see in the description  was non transferable.

I think you're right.   Thanks.

Has this change during 2023? Or is the benefit still refundable?

Thanks in advance

John

We have an upcoming, Dec, cruise and our account (Payments)  still shows the Military Credit as refundable.

This is from the Payments section of our upcoming February Cruise:

Total Onboard Credits $30.00 $130.00 $160.00
Military Benefits* $0.00 $100.00 $100.00

*Please enjoy using these credits onboard as they are not refundable.

We never have any problem using the OBC during the cruise...

Our Military OBC shows up as refundable.

I wonder if Princess has changed their policy regarding the refundability of military OBC and some of us were simply grandfathered-in to the old poilcy

It may be the time in which you booked the cruise. A few months back I received an email from Princess stating that you could no longer have the SHOBC and MOBC together anymore, you would only get one or the other. There must have been a real big stink raised because they have decided to let us have both again, but changed the MOBC to nonrefundable. If you still show it as refundable I wish you the best of luck that they don't catch it or change it on you. We just booked a cruise for 2025 on 10/23/23 and it shows MOBC as nonrefundable.

Based on my 3 future cruises you are correct…the 2 booked before the change was made on 6/29/23 show as refundable; the 1 booked after that date is non-refundable.

I just checked my upcoming cruises for 2024 and I think you are correct.  For the cruise booked in July, the MOBC is showing as refundable but the two cruises booked in October are showing as non-refundable.

Carnival advised in July that we in Australia, could no longer claim both SHOBC & MOBC,

now there seems to be some confusion as to whether or not it has been reinstated that you can.

Have you guys over there heard something official?

John

I just emailed mine last week for our 3/8/25 cruise and they applied it the next day. When is this new one coming about?

You need to create an account with Stockperks and link your brokerage statement.   If it works takes a few minutes to verify eligibility.   Stockperks is having issues with Plaid the interface, could be due to volume.
