If you mean the onboard credit, my husband gets on any/every cruise - so no I wouldn't expect it to be refunded as 'cash' - but used towards onboard expenses.  And if the cruise is canceled - so is the credit.  You would get again on next cruise - it's not additive.  If you're referring to some other kind of credit or discount, don't know.

Who told you it was non-refundable? Unless things have changed in the past couple of weeks it’s still refundable as it has been since this great military program started over a decade ago.

From my recent onboard statement.

It has always been a refundable credit which I routinely use onboard.

If under $25 it’s refundable at Guest Services the day before a cruise ends; if over $25 then is refunded by a check mailed to home.

I can relate 🤣…I need to refresh my memory more often now with written documentation such as my statement ending 3+ weeks ago.

The guy in the future cruise sales office told us it was non refundable. My onboard statement shows the same as yours, so I thought this might be another cost saving measure introduced by Princess in the past few weeks.

If you open up your onboard app and click on Shipboard Account, you will see all of the non-refundable credits, such as Promotional Credit and/or Future Cruise Credit will have (non-refundable) listed to the right whereas Military Credit won’t have anything listed meaning it’s refundable.

Dh was in the navy when he was 17!

He found his discharge papers when we started cruising and now gets the military benefit on every Princess cruise

BTW there is no need to wait for a check for left over obc

Take it out at the casino

Still waiting for ours since February. My TA says Princess will call me to " explain" why we have not received a check as in the past. I too believe it may be another change in rules. I can understand but would like to know for sure if it is or is not. At least then I know to use it and not lose it. Those checks were cashed and used on next cruise as extra tips for room steward and dining.

Update Of course I was in the shower when the Princess rep called . Message said they reviewed and payment will be "routed" in the next 10 to 14 days. So my only other question would have been about it still being refundable. I guess we will find out on our next cruise.  I will be sure to ask.  I am actually surprised it has not changed. Just nice to know the rules, though they seem to change daily. Anyone else having any information please pass it on.

We've go OBC from Princess on the next trip which they indicate as non-refundable. It's shown as

"Shore Excursion Credit*".

Has anyone had this type before and does it have to be used only for a tour or can it be used for a Specialty restaurant? They've never indicated OBC to be used for certain things before as I recall.

@MissP22 we had shore excursion credit showing pre-cruise.  When we boarded there was a note in our cabin telling us one of our excursions was cancelled - this was where the credit came from.  We had to scramble to re-book an alternative as many tours were sold out by then

So maybe they are keeping track of those excursion credits after all.

I would really hate to use the credit for any excursion in the Caribbean since we've seen just about everything and would rather use it for the Specialty restaurant if they'll let us.

I agree. Cashing out at the casino can make all OBC refundable.

We were aboard the Discovery for her first two voyages, 27 Mar-10 Apr 22.  Did not spend all our cabin credits.  Received a check for $100 on 4 June for the unused military credit.  Other unused credits were lost.  As others have said, watch your letter mail closely as the envelope does not boldly indicate it is from Princess.

But yes, the military credit is refundable and is refunded (eventually).🙂
