Back after our 1st Carnival cruise on the Glory

Recommended Posts

We’re seasoned cruisers with RCL & MSC ( Platinum) and this was our first Carnival cruise.

It surpassed all expectations.

Verifly - brilliant

Onboard the ship from pier bag drop in 40mins and muster station completed.

Food no complaints

Entertainment excellent - Leon the cruise director is amazing along with Marky Mark

Staff - all very friendly and helpful

Comedy Club very

The ship itself - very clean ( lots of cleaning going on credit to the crew ) showing it’s age a bit but to be expected

Ports of call - all great - Jamaica/ Grand Cayman/Cozumel

Chef’s Table to be honest i was expecting something a bit more classy but still enjoyed

Steakhouse very good

Weather couldn’t have asked for smoother sailing

Disembarkation - quick and easy walk off

In summary - the atmosphere of friendliness from staff and guests will stay with us and certainly will make us book again.

Thank you to all the staff.

We live a little over an hour away from the New Orleans terminal and sail the Glory a lot. Since reopening we have sailed her five times and all five have been from "that was fun" to "wow, that was great." The one constant has been the excellent crew; smiling, joking and helping any way they can.

Marky Mark is a relatively new addition as MC in the comedy club and he is a riot. Our last cruise at the beginning of April was a "wow, that was great cruise" and one of the things that pushed it up to that level was Marky Mark and the four comedians on that cruise. Marky was like having a fifth comedian.

Glad to hear others enjoy Glory also.

My kind of review! Brilliant!

Great to hear you had a good time!

I agree with the comments about crew. In my review of the Miracle a few months ago, I wrote how I overheard a waitress say "We love our jobs and we want to be here". Might be just playing up the customer service angle but I've always felt that way with CCL staff.

We are getting on Glory Sunday, same itinerary.  What did you do in the three ports?  Just curious about Montego Bay and GC, since they only both reopened to cruise ships.  There doesn't seem to be a lot going on!

We did Glory a few years ago, and I can't wait to go back on her!

Glad to hear Glory is holding up. We were on her a few years ago to celebrate our 25th anniversary and will celebrate our 30th anniversary on her next April (in an Ocean suite, no less). Thanks for your thoughts!

I love these older ships, they're so unique, if a little brash at times with the themes.

Uh, um, Glory prefers "woman of a certain age."

Was Just June still on the ship as one of the comedians? She was on there a few weeks ago and was hilarious.

Interesting.

We caught her adult show on the Liberty several weeks ago and she failed to connect with the crowd. Even mentioned to others to skip her if she was on their cruise.

Perhaps just an off night!

What is msc like? Do they go out of Florida? I saw menus online and I thought the choices were not good.

Jamaica we used the hop/on/off bus and went to Margaritaville

Grand Cayman 7 mile beach

Cozumel we hired a car and went to Punta Sur Eco park and then drove round the island.

I know at one time earlier in the year the Casino was smoke free. How was the walk through the casino? How bad was the smoke?

No smoke that we noticed and had a few drinks at the bar most nights ( because of the band playing )

Thanks for the awesome review.  Nice to see something positive on these boards for a change.

We have never been on the Glory, but we have a trip coming up in June on her.  Now I'm even more excited. Thank You!
