Thank you for posting the slide.  BUT...my TA was told she could not add Princess Plus to existing fare (before it switched from $40 to $50).  She is also a miracle worker and I know she tried hard.  I wish Princess would get their act together (oh, have I said this before???).

ask your "TA" to try BEST3 as the upgrade code ...

I also think the second agent is wrong and you should be able to to upgrade for $25/day.

But is no one concerned about how Princess was able to get the OP's real name and phone number when we're supposed to be semi-anonymous on here??????? 😮

(I know the CC administrators have our info but this was Princess, not CC)

I found it interesting that someone from Princess even pays attention to what is posted here!

I think it’s a good thing!  They need to know about the confusion and how their loyal guests feel.

There are spy’s everywhere!😂

In the UK we can upgrade for an extra £20 a day.

But is it really worth it?

We clearly don't need 4 Wifi connections each

Nor the photos nor the prizes

So it is only worth it, in my opinion, if you are going to be drinking lots of alcohol which are more than $12

Am I missing something?

Unfortunately I am now a primarily solo traveler. for my current upcoming cruise I do have a cabin mate.  We both booked the Plus package.  I thought that this is only a 7 day cruise it would be "worth it" to try the Premier rather than wait for a longer cruise later this year.  Well, I can't there is no code to upgrade just one person in the cabin - both have to take the Premier package.  I'm not even going to ask my cabin mate about spending an extra $25 a day just to see what's the package has, she travels on a tighter budget that I.  I recall quite clearly that the old beverage packages could be purchased individually, not everyone in the cabin had to buy it.

so slight bummer for me and less money into Princess' pocket.

Before they added premier, I was able to add the plus package to an existing booking as a solo pax.

My thoughts on the plus package.  I'm going to use round numbers for math simplicity. And these are the things I feel I need.

Breakdown per day for me

Grats $15

Internet $10

Coffee card $5 (could be less on a longer voyage)

Total $30 per day.

Breakdown per day for hubby

Grats $15

Internet $10

Coffee card $5 (could be less on a longer voyage)

Soda card.  $12

Total $42 per day.

So when the price was $40 per day per person, it was an amazing deal and I found some booze drinks I really liked and a couple I will never try again.  And at $50 I'll still buy it.

But I can't see the value in $75 per day.  Maybe on a short cruise.  But for $25 more per day, I can eat every night at a specialty restaurant.  Then again, we don't really know what these 'prizes' are.

I'll stick with plus!

PLUS and PREMIER are Fare Codes and as such at least the first two in a cabin have to have the same cruise fare code.  Sure, if cruising solo, you can buy the package as such but then you are alone in the cabin.

The drink packages are still sold in the Cruise Personalizer as Onboard Services, but it would be rather poor choice to do such a thing as for one person it costs at least as much as if you just have both cabinmates on the corresponding Fare Code.

A studious employee I imagine.  They had the first name, the last name first letter, their home city, the cruise ship and date, so they figure it out with searching.

I received a call from another Princess agent yesterday afternoon after I posted my concern about having to re book rather than upgrade.  She stated they had seen my post on CC and her supervisor asked her to call me, she said I could just upgrade the package for $35 per day per person.  That seems like a fair deal if you are interested.  I asked 2 additional questions , Do both guest in the same room get to participate in the prizes when door opens, she did not now If you pay for the upgrade both should be entered I would think.  I asked what are the free spins in the casino and are they unlimited, she did not kinow.  She said it was just the first day I know they told us about this 2 weeks ago, shouold have done better training in advance of kick off.  Well we are thinking of trying the premier just to try some better wines hope we dont get onboard and they tell us we dont have any due to supply chain problems, would not surprise me.

I really am concerned about how Princess tracked Mark through cruise critic!

and

upgrade is $25 pp, not $35 pp!

About to reconsider my Loyalty again!

How is that possible?  The Princess CC Host would know, I bet.

Could it be because he had called Princess the day before about the new program and they went on CC to see what was posted and realized he had called and then called him back on Thursday?

IDK

Posters often have included enough information in their various posts it is easy for Princess (or anybody else) to figure out who they are and how to contact them.

For example, if a poster ever included their phone number it would also be in the Princess data base.

So true.  Also, their email address is a sure way to find them.

OP- only shows MarkE

i am not entirely certain about this because I really don't do the social media thing - I'm pretty certain I ran across a place either in Princess on line, or the app where you  could input your social media handle.  Can't tell anyone exactly where, I'm VERY last century when it come to sharing my thoughts/feelings so I simply clicked next when it came up.

My travel agent just rebooked at the new premier rate.  Since prices had dropped a bit, it came out to an $18 per day upcharge.  Hubby likes good scotch, & I like good wine. We are going with a group and I am in charge of creating a photo album so the digital prints are perfect for me.  We will take lots of group pics and if at least one of us in the picture, they are included.  If we want to get away from the group we now have specialty dining.  Worth it for us.

Grats  $15 per day

Wi-fi    $10

Specialty $8 ( it's a 7 day cruise)

Pictures $20 (1 per day)

Drinks  $ 40 very low estimate

Per day costs would be at least $93 per day.  I paid $58

Have tried to upgrade today from Princess Plus to this new package today. Unfortunately it was way too expensive - think the agent said £900 for us both for a 14 night sailing. We will be very upset if we have to pay extra for our drinks if they raise the prices above the Plus Package limit of $12.  We are used to sailing Celebrity where we can have unlimited drinks on their Premium Drinks package, which includes most of the top end spirits. We are trying to remain positive about our first Princess cruise, but at the moment we are struggling a bit!

On Celebrity there are three drink packages 1)Standard (not sure about pricing and what it includes)

2) Classic - $69/day/pp (drinks up to $9) and Premium $84/day/pp (drinks up to $15)

So in one way or another you are also paying extra on there. We also sail both lines and have felt Princess offered more value for the dollars spent on the drink package. I'm not sure what changes this new tier will add.

Yeah I know but we always sail in a Suite, so the Premium package was always included and we loved not having to keep count of the number of drinks. Hopefully we will enjoy Princess, and have a great time and will hopefully be able to pay the extra for any drinks not included in the Plus package. Think this will probably work out cheaper anyway.
